Ea Hiu Commune (Krong Pac District) was recognized as a "Commune meeting new rural standards"

This is a great honor for the cadres and people of Ea Hiu commune before the official milestone of operating the government apparatus and new administrative units according to Resolution 1660/NQ-UBTVQH15 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Dak Lak province.

Ea Hiu commune was established in 1984 on the basis of separation from Ea Kuang commune. The whole commune currently has 1,447 households, 7,161 people; 70% of the population are Bru - Van Kieu and Ede ethnic groups.

During 15 years of building new rural areas, the Party Committee, government and people of Ea Hiu commune have united and unanimously promoted the effectiveness of investment resources; promoted patriotic emulation movements; and determined to improve all aspects of material and spiritual life.

By the end of 2024, the commune had completed 19/19 new rural criteria with many outstanding achievements such as: 100% of commune roads were concreted; over 90% of village and hamlet roads and inter-village and hamlet roads were hardened; 50% of alley roads and main roads in the fields ensured convenient travel and transportation of goods all year round; the irrigation canal system ensured proactive irrigation for 95% of agricultural land; 96.75% of households in the commune had regular and safe access to electricity... People had full access to medical and telecommunications services. Children of all ages were able to go to school, ensuring their studies and entertainment. Cultural, artistic, physical education and sports activities were vibrant; traditional cultural values of the Ede, Bru - Van Kieu ethnic communities were preserved and promoted.

The commune has recorded many highly effective economic models with 3 pig farms, 2 mushroom farms and intensive farming models, applying science and technology on rice, coffee, durian... In particular, in recent years, Ea Hiu commune has developed a model of raising swiftlets with 22 swiftlet houses worth billions of VND/model; 1 bird's nest product has achieved 3-star OCOP certification.

Ea Hiu is also a bright spot in vocational training, job creation, labor export and sustainable poverty reduction. By the end of 2024, people in the commune had an average income of 47.6 million VND/person/year; the poverty rate was only 5.3%; most people of working age had jobs with the rate of trained workers reaching 70.5%. The whole commune no longer had temporary or dilapidated houses. Security and national defense were ensured and stable.

In the period 2010 - 2024, the total capital for new rural construction and integration from other programs and projects in the commune reached over 104 billion VND. Of which, Ea Hiu people contributed 731 million VND, participated in thousands of working days, donated hundreds of thousands of ^square meters of land and assets on the land to build rural infrastructure works.
