On the afternoon of June 6 (local time) in Washington DC (USA), Minister of Agriculture and Environment Do Duc Duy led a delegation to work with the US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC).
Eight agreements were signed at the event, with a total value of up to 1.1 billion USD. Together with the memorandums of understanding (MOUs) signed earlier in Iowa, Ohio and Maryland, the total agreement to purchase US agricultural products is worth up to nearly 3 billion USD.
The largest deal on June 6, worth up to 380 million USD, was signed between Khai Anh Binh Thuan Joint Stock Company and Cargill Group, committing to import 1.2 million tons of grain for animal feed, including corn, wheat and soybean meal from the US.

In addition, the remaining 7 agreements involve businesses such as Thien But Company and Lamex Food Group; Thien But Company and Niceland Foods; RYL Food Joint Stock Company and Sea2Asia; IMEX CDC Joint Stock Company and Niceland Foods; IMEX CDC Joint Stock Company and Intervision Foods; Ho Chi Minh City Handicraft and Wood Processing Association (HAWA) and Kember Interiors; Northeast Timber and Lumber LLP and Vitana Company Limited.
Minister Do Duc Duy affirmed that the working trip was a great success, bringing very positive results. Mr. Ted Osius - President of USABC - emphasized that the agreements reached during the trip by the Vietnamese delegation are clear evidence of the positive partnership between the two countries, and at the same time open the door to promising cooperation between the two complementary agricultural sectors.
