This afternoon, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Pham Thu Hang answered a reporter's question asking about Vietnam's reaction to the parties reaching a ceasefire agreement for the conflict between Israel and Iran.
The spokesperson stated: “Vietnam welcomes the ceasefire agreement for the current conflict between Israel and Iran. We call on relevant parties to strictly comply with the agreement, creating conditions for peace , stability and development in the region and the world.
Vietnam supports efforts to promote negotiations and dialogue on the basis of respect for national sovereignty and principles of international law and the United Nations Charter, in order to bring about long-term and sustainable peace in the region."
The Israel-Iran conflict erupted on June 13 when Israel launched an unprecedented attack on targets inside Iran. Iran responded with missile attacks on areas in Israel.
Tensions escalated in the early morning of June 22, when the US mobilized bombers to attack three key Iranian nuclear facilities: Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan.
Immediately after the ceasefire between Israel and Iran officially took effect on the 12th day of conflict (June 24), many world leaders welcomed and called on both sides to seriously comply with this agreement, while promoting diplomatic dialogue to restore peace and stability in the Middle East region.
