September 2, 1945 was a major historical milestone for the Vietnamese people, when President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence at Ba Dinh Square, officially giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. This event marked the victory of the August Revolution, ending more than 80 years of French colonialism and Japanese fascism, opening a new era: the era of independence and freedom for the Vietnamese people. National Day September 2 is not only a major national holiday, but also a sacred symbol of the will to gain independence, affirming the right to mastery and the desire for freedom of the Vietnamese people.

On this important occasion, the Vietnam Film Institute organizes a screening of Vietnamese films to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025). The event takes place at Ngoc Khanh Cinema, 523 Kim Ma, Giang Vo, Hanoi , from August 27 to 29. Each day, a film will be screened at 9am.

Specifically, on August 27, the feature film "That Day by the Lam River" (Vietnam Feature Film Company, 1980, directed by Nguyen Ngoc Trung) will be shown. The work vividly recreates the Nghe Tinh Soviet revolutionary movement of 1930 - 1931.

On August 28, the feature film "Silent Warriors" (Vietnam Feature Film Company, 1984, directed by Pham Van Khoa) was screened. The film tells the story of soldiers operating behind enemy lines, brave and resourceful, helping our troops capture Buon Ma Thuot, contributing to the final victory of the resistance war against the US.

On August 29, the feature film "The Rooster's Noontime Rooster" (Liberation Film Studio, 1997, directed by Nguyen Huy Thanh) was shown. The film clearly recreated the heroic, vibrant and proud life of comrade Ton Duc Thang...

These films are not only invaluable historical documents but also works of art that move people's hearts, inspiring future generations with patriotism, solidarity and the desire for peace . At the same time, this activity has profound significance in honoring revolutionary cinematographic works and encouraging creativity in preserving historical memories through art./.
