Talking with Mr. Vang Van Soi - Secretary of Phieng Ban village Party cell, we learned: Currently, the village has 40 households, 187 people, Thai ethnic group accounts for 99%. Promoting the movement "All people protect national security", building a skillful model of mass mobilization on drug prevention, the village Party cell has implemented many measures to propagate and mobilize people to seriously implement drug prevention and control work in the area.
To prevent drugs from infiltrating the community, the village established a village covenant and included it in the content of village meetings and party cell activities. At the same time, it propagated and mobilized people to be vigilant, fight, denounce crimes, and resolutely fight against drugs. The village mobilized branches and organizations to join hands in building and establishing self-management teams for security and order, and regularly participated in security patrols.
Without drug abuse, people in Phieng Ban village (Le Loi commune) can work and produce with peace of mind.
To gain people's trust and follow, each Party member in the Party cell and prestigious person always upholds the sense of responsibility, strictly abides by the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and policies; grasps the local situation. At the same time, strengthens propaganda, helps people understand that poverty and hunger are caused by drugs. Every year, the village organizes 100% of households to sign a commitment not to trade, not to use, not to illegally store drugs, to build a "drug-free family".
Ms. Mao Thi Don (a resident of Phieng Ban village) shared: Every time the village launches a campaign to sign a commitment to build a “drug-free family”, my family always responds and takes the lead in implementing it. Without drug abuse, our people can rest assured to develop the economy , eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, and build an increasingly prosperous and happy life.
Currently, the villagers are cultivating 3.2 hectares of upland rice, 14 hectares of corn and cassava, and raising over 300 pigs following the model of large-scale livestock farming towards market goods. Production has been promoted, the rate of poor households has decreased to only 2 households, raising the average income to 39 million VND/person/year. The villagers have raised their awareness of building a green, clean, and beautiful village, and have completed the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses.
In 2024, Phieng Ban was recognized as a drug-free village. Promoting the achieved results, Phieng Ban village continues to do a good job in preventing drug crimes, maintaining the title of a drug-free village, ensuring security and order, creating favorable conditions for people to confidently develop the economy.
