Facing the quality "blue team" - Iga Kuinichi Mie Club - the team currently ranked 3rd in the Japanese National First Division, Coach Mai Duc Chung deployed an experienced squad including goalkeeper Tran Thi Kim Thanh, defenders Chuong Thi Kieu, Luong Thu Thuong, Tran Thi Thu, Thai Thi Thao and Ngan Thi Van Su; the midfield consisted of Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy, Duong Van, Thu Thao and Nguyen Thi Van; playing highest in the attack was captain Huynh Nhu.

However, the Vietnamese women's team was at a disadvantage from the second minute when they conceded a goal after a lack of concentration in defense. The early loss did not deter coach Mai Duc Chung's players. They quickly regained control of the game and in the 16th minute, midfielder Nguyen Thi Van took advantage of the opportunity to score an equalizer to make it 1-1.

The remaining minutes of the first half were quite balanced. However, in the 43rd minute, Iga Kuinichi Mie Club once again took the lead 2-1 after a quick attack.

Entering the second half, the match continued to be a tight affair in the first 20 minutes. In the 63rd minute, coach Mai Duc Chung made a series of tactical changes with five consecutive substitutions: Diem My, Hai Yen, Nguyen Thi Duyen, Tuyet Ngan and Tuyet Dung entered the field to replace Thu Thuong, Bich Thuy, Thu Thao, Nguyen Thi Van and Thai Thi Thao.

This adjustment immediately took effect. In the 75th minute, from a quick combination, striker Pham Hai Yen neatly finished to equalize 2-2 for the Vietnamese women's team. Not stopping there, in the 86th minute, she continued to shine with a goal to raise the score to 3-2, sealing an emotional comeback victory for the girls in red.

In the final minutes of the match, coach Mai Duc Chung gave young striker Ngoc Minh Chuyen a chance to replace captain Huynh Nhu, ending a match that was both experimental and dramatic.

The 3-2 victory over an opponent from a developed football background like Japan is not only a positive start but also adds confidence to the Vietnamese women's team on their journey towards the upcoming Asian qualifiers.
