With the aim of creating more playgrounds for all those interested in pickleball, a sport that has not been in Vietnam for long but has created strong attraction from all walks of life, Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper organizes the 1st Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper Pickleball Tournament - 2025.
The tournament was held on the occasion of many important historical events, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025), the 50th anniversary of the founding of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper (July 28, 1975 - July 28, 2025) and towards the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).

The 1st Pickleball Tournament of Lao Dong Newspaper - 2025 has the participation of many amateur players in the city and neighboring provinces.
Also competing in the tournament are journalists working at news agencies, along with many tennis players who are artists, actors, singers, and musicians working in the art field.

At exactly 7:30 a.m., the tournament's opening ceremony officially took place. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Bui Thanh Liem - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Lao Dong Newspaper, Head of the Tournament Organizing Committee - said that the Lao Dong Newspaper Pickleball Tournament was held to celebrate many major national holidays with the enthusiastic participation of many athletes, the support of many press agencies, businesses, social organizations and accompanying units.
"We hope the tournament will create a positive effect, contributing to influencing the awareness of sports training among the masses, improving physical health and spiritual and cultural life in the community." - Mr. Bui Thanh Liem shared.

Ambassador of the tournament, singer and actress Minh Hang, on behalf of 200 athletes participating in the tournament, swore to compete with determination, not to be arrogant in victory or discouraged in defeat, to be honest and absolutely comply with the tournament rules, regulations and decisions of the referees.
At exactly 8:30, the first matches of the tournament began. The audience eagerly awaited to see their "idols" such as actress and singer Minh Hang, actor and model Binh Minh, former volleyball player Luong Thu Phuong, tennis players from the "press sector" Doc Lap - Hoang Quynh, Tat Dat - Dung Phuong...
Athletes eager to compete
Journalist Dung Phuong (Sai Gon Giai Phong Newspaper) shared: "Participating in the tournament is an opportunity for us to exchange, learn, compete with colleagues and artists, and improve our pickleball skills. Our goal is to go as far as possible, and winning a ranking is the highest wish."
According to the regulations of the 1st Pickleball Tournament of the Labor Newspaper - 2025, the qualifying matches will take place in 1 round, each round will have 11 points and change the field from 6 points, 2 points away is the win from 10-10 points with the final score being 15; from the knockout round, each match will have 1 round, each round will have 15 points and change the field from 8 points, 2 points away is the win from 14-14 points with the final score being 21. As for the final matches, the competition will be in the format of 3 rounds, 2 wins, each round will have 11 points.
The atmosphere is vibrant
The rackets will compete in a round robin in groups according to content and age, selecting the two pairs with the best results in each group to continue to the quarter-finals. From here, the pairs will compete in a knockout format, the winning pair will continue to the semi-finals and finals of each content.
