The event not only celebrates 30 years of Vietnam-US diplomatic relations, but also introduces the diversity and quality of American agricultural products through creative menus at many restaurants.

The US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City and the US Department of Agriculture have just announced the launch of "Discovering Deliciousness Week", a culinary promotion campaign to honor the quality and diversity of American food and cuisine.

Throughout the event, diners will enjoy a taste of American cuisine, from New York-style dishes at Eddie's Deliand Diner, Southern comfort food at The Wagon Wheel, flavorful Tex-Mex grills at Red Bison Grill, and upscale steakhouse experiences at Moo Beef Steak and Americano Coffee.

Going beyond American cuisine, the event also highlighted the global appeal of American ingredients through Vietnamese fusion dishes at Madame Lam, Korean steakhouse at Woo Master, Japanese yakiniku grill at Gyu Shige, healthy Mediterranean-style dishes at Skewers, and creative vegetarian dishes at Cay De restaurant.

Mr. Andrew Anderson-Sprecher - Agricultural Attaché, US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City - said the main strategy of the week in Vietnam is to connect directly with consumers. The campaign also celebrates the diversity and versatility of American ingredients, which can be combined harmoniously and enhance many different culinary styles.

"We are very proud of our products and want to share more with the Vietnamese people. From fruits, nutritious seeds, processed products to wine, all can become ingredients for dishes that Vietnamese diners love," he said.

This event brings together 10 restaurants in Ho Chi Minh City, selected based on their enthusiasm and willingness to experiment with new ingredients. According to Mr. Andrew Anderson-Sprecher, the chefs not only use familiar products but also challenge themselves with American ingredients that are little known in Vietnam.

"For example, Eddie's restaurant has added blueberries and American chicken to its new dish, Madam Lam uses American lobster, and many other partners are creative with American potatoes. We want to encourage chefs to experiment to see the flexibility and value of American agricultural products in many culinary styles from Vietnam, Japan, Korea to America," said the US agricultural attaché.

An interesting point is the participation of vegetarian restaurant Thai Day. Here, the chef uses American soybeans, one of the high-quality products, which is exported to many demanding markets such as Japan, Korea and now Vietnam, to create unique vegetarian dishes.

US Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, Ms. Melissa A. Brown emphasized that “Discovering Deliciousness Week” not only honors the strong relationship between the two countries, but also helps introduce premium American ingredients to Vietnamese consumers.

During “Discovering Flavors Week,” diners can embark on a culinary journey around the world right here in Ho Chi Minh City, while enjoying the finest American ingredients. All U.S. food and beverage exports must adhere to the same strict safety standards as products sold in the United States.

"We are delighted to be working with chefs and restaurants in Ho Chi Minh City who are creative and enthusiastic in introducing American agricultural products in their own unique ways. Through American Food Week, we hope that Vietnamese diners will increasingly love and trust the quality of American products. These high-quality products can enhance any culinary style, giving chefs the opportunity to create unique and unforgettable dishes," said Ms. Melissa A. Brown.

"Discovering Flavors Week" is an opportunity for food lovers to enjoy special menus made from imported ingredients from the US at 10 participating restaurants in Ho Chi Minh City. This event is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the US and Vietnam.

AS PEACEFUL
