Previously, in 2023, the authorities inspected and determined that many cracks appeared inside the Super T girder spans in the 5 main spans in the middle of the river and the Vietnam Road Administration proposed a major repair. In mid-July, the repair work was carried out, the authorities officially "closed" the bridge to prohibit traffic for construction, the duration is 100 days, expected to be completed and put back into operation from September 14.
