From 2023 to present, Kon Tum province has sent 9 delegations, nearly 100 officials to visit and work with Rattanakiri province and sent 4 delegations, nearly 60 officials to visit and work with Stung Streng province; at the same time, welcomed 16 delegations, nearly 300 officials of the province to visit and work. Most recently, a delegation of Kon Tum province led by Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Ngoc Tuan visited and wished Cho Cho-nam Tho-may a Happy New Year in Rattanakiri and Stung Streng provinces in April 2025. This is an opportunity for the two sides to assess the cooperation situation, promote investment attraction, develop tourism , coordinate in opening border gates and cooperate in human resource training. At the meeting, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Ngoc Tuan wished: " In the coming time, I really hope that Rattanakiri province and Kon Tum province will promote cooperation in all fields. Especially effectively and practically implementing the cooperation minutes between the two provinces. We really hope that in the coming time, the Rattanakiri provincial government will continue to create all favorable conditions as well as protect all legitimate interests of more than 1,300 Vietnamese households living in Rattanakiri".

On behalf of the officials and people of Rattanakiri province, Kingdom of Cambodia, Mr. Khan Chom-nan, Deputy Governor of Rattanakiri province said: “ On behalf of the government and people of Rattanakiri province , I would like to thank Kon Tum province for its great support to Rattanakiri province. I pledge to advise the Governor and the Government to promote friendly cooperation with Kon Tum province according to the content that the two sides have discussed and exchanged.”

On June 24, 1967, Vietnam and Cambodia officially established diplomatic relations. Promoting solidarity and friendship, Kon Tum province has sheltered and protected thousands of people from the northeastern provinces of Cambodia to seek refuge in the cause of liberating the Cambodian people from genocide. Many of them later became senior officials of the Cambodian Government. Currently, Kon Tum province and the northeastern provinces of Cambodia have signed a memorandum of cooperation and development and the two sides are promoting cooperation in many areas such as trade, tourism, investment, human resource training and border security protection. Specifically, the two sides cooperated in demarcating and marking the border section of nearly 140 km between Kon Tum province and Rattanakiri province. On the Cambodian side, it has helped Kon Tum province search for, collect and repatriate the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died on the neighboring country during the war. The results achieved in cooperation and friendship between Kon Tum province and the northeastern provinces of Cambodia have contributed to enhancing solidarity and friendship between the two countries and two peoples.
