On September 13,the President signed a decision to posthumously award the Third Class Fatherland Protection Medal to professional Lieutenant Colonel Tang Ba Hung for his outstanding achievements in helping people overcome the consequences of storm No. 3.

Previously, at 1:30 p.m. on September 11, following orders from his superiors, Lieutenant Colonel Tang Ba Hung and his teammates helped people in Truong Son town (An Lao district, Hai Phong ) overcome the consequences of storm No. 3.
While trimming a fallen tree with his teammates and local residents, Lieutenant Colonel Hung was electrocuted.
His teammates and local people performed first aid and took him to Kien An Hospital, Hai Phong City, but Lieutenant Colonel Hung did not survive and died at the hospital.
Afterwards, the commander of Brigade 653 reported to his superiors and increased forces and means to help the locality overcome the consequences of storm No. 3.
After his death, professional soldier Tang Ba Hung was posthumously promoted from Major to Lieutenant Colonel by the Ministry of National Defense .

Lieutenant Colonel Tang Ba Hung was born in 1978, his hometown is Thanh Lang commune, Thanh Ha district, Hai Duong province. He is a driver of Platoon 2, Company 1, Transport Brigade 653, Logistics Department of Military Region 3.
