University of Information Technology (Ho Chi Minh City National University) announced the rules for converting equivalent admission scores of admission methods in 2025.
Do not convert each candidate's admission score to a common scale.
Dr. Nguyen Tan Tran Minh Khang - Vice Principal of the University of Information Technology (Ho Chi Minh City National University) - said that based on the admission regulations and university admission guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Training , the school announced the conversion rules for equivalent admission scores of admission methods in 2025.
The school's score conversion rules aim to ensure the principles of equivalence, fairness and transparency between admission methods.
Notably, the school does not convert each candidate's admission score to a common scale.
"Instead of converting each candidate's score to a common scale, the school applies the percentile table announced by Ho Chi Minh City National University and the Ministry of Education and Training, based on the conversion framework for admission scores between admission methods.
This includes comparing the score distribution of the 2025 high school graduation exam combinations, high school transcript scores, along with the academic results of students in previous years and the registration status of equivalent candidates according to percentile and the level of meeting the input requirements of each major," Mr. Khang added.
Previously, the University of Economics and Law (Ho Chi Minh City National University) also announced that it would implement a method of converting admission scores without converting each candidate's score to a common scale.
Announce the score conversion table for candidates to choose the appropriate method
The University of Finance and Marketing has also published a detailed equivalent score conversion table for candidates to choose the appropriate method.
According to the school, to ensure fairness between admission methods (academic transcripts, Ho Chi Minh City National University's aptitude test, V-SAT, high school graduation exam), the school applies equivalent admission score conversion.
This means that each method will have its own entry threshold (for example: academic transcript ≥ 18/30 points, capacity assessment ≥ 600/1,200 points, V-SAT ≥ 225/450, high school ≥ 15/30).
The scores of each method are converted to the same "measure" for fair comparison, but do not force all candidates to a common scale.
For example: 720 points of Ho Chi Minh City National University's capacity assessment is equivalent to about 18 - 19 points of high school exam.
V-SAT scores or transcript scores are also converted according to the equivalence table for accurate comparison.
"This conversion does not artificially reduce or increase candidates' scores, but only helps ensure fairness between admission methods. The benchmark scores of each method will be announced separately, with a conversion table for candidates to easily compare," the school representative added.
