Enhance integration capacity

In early July 2025, at the Apollo Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (Hyderabad, India), Phan Chau Trinh University (Da Nang) signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement in medical training with Apollo Group - one of the largest private healthcare groups in Asia. The signing of the cooperation agreement with Apollo expands opportunities for students and lecturers to study, practice and research in an international medical environment, contributing to improving integration capacity, expertise and access to modern medical technology.

In 2020, the school signed a cooperation agreement with Aieraa Overseas Studies Company - India, implementing a 6-year medical training program entirely in English for international students; including Indian students. Students do internships from the first year at the school's hospital system.

The cooperation also opens up development prospects for students studying at the school with cultural exchange programs between students from different countries. Students with a good foundation in English are encouraged to participate in this program with international students. In September 2024, the school received nearly 60 Indian and Myanmar students to study the 6-year General Practitioner training program entirely in English.

Along with that, the school's students have many opportunities to study, expand their networks and integrate globally. In July 2024, medical students Phan Van Bao Long and Nguyen Thi Minh Trang won full scholarships for a summer internship program at Alberta Children's Hospital (Canada). This scholarship is sponsored by Project Outreach International Child Health. Previously, medical student Ha Nguyen Phuong Duyen was also sponsored by Taipei University for a two-month TEEP (Taiwan Experience Education Program) internship program in Taiwan.

In return, the school accepts medical students from partner universities abroad for internships. In July 2024, the school accepted 9 international students from the US, Hungary, Poland and France to participate in the clinical internship program at the Institute - School system. Previously, in 2022 and 2023, the school accepted a number of medical students from the University of Manchester - UK and Albert Szent-Györgyi University of Medicine (Hungary) for clinical internships.

During her internship, Isela Vasquez, a student at Northeastern University (USA), shared: “I love the experience here as well as the people and the teaching I received from this program. It has really benefited me a lot.”

Creating an international environment in Vietnam

The University of Medicine and Pharmacy (Vietnam National University, Hanoi ) and Professor Pierre Clavelou - Rector of the School of Medicine, University of Clermont Augverne, France (UCA) have signed 3 cooperation documents between the two units. This agreement plays an important role in developing training and research programs, while creating an international working and learning environment for staff, lecturers and students.

According to Dr. Nguyen Thi Anh Thu - Vice Principal of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy (Vietnam National University, Hanoi), the cooperation goal is to train young doctors within the framework of the DFMS/DFMSA programs. Thanks to these cooperation programs, students have access to new medical knowledge, while creating opportunities for cooperation between medical experts from the two countries.

The school will focus on international cooperation, especially with France, the US, the UK, China, Japan... Along with efforts to build national and international standard training programs, Prof. Dr. Le Ngoc Thanh - Principal said that in the period of 2024 - 2025, the school will pay special attention to promoting international cooperation, establishing relationships with prestigious universities such as: Paris-Saclay, Aix-Marseille (France), Duke (USA), Birmingham (UK)...

One of the next important directions of the school is to attract international students to study. Recently, the school officially launched a master's training program in English for international students from 2025. This is one of the strategic steps to expand international training cooperation and affirm the school's position in the region and the world , aiming to develop into a high-quality medical training center and international integration.

The program is designed for international students who want to study and work in Vietnam, especially candidates from India - where the demand for training high-quality medical human resources is constantly increasing. The entire teaching process is conducted in English, creating favorable conditions for students to access the international academic environment and prepare for a global medical career right in Vietnam. The training program includes 4 majors for master's level: Internal Medicine; Surgery; Pediatrics; Radiology & Nuclear Medicine.

Along with that, India will be the first place the school will send students to study. Currently, there are more than 400 Indian students studying at universities in Can Tho and Ho Chi Minh City. Attracting international students to study in Vietnam is extremely necessary and meaningful when creating an international environment right in Vietnam.

In recent years, Hanoi Medical University has also had many cooperations with Singaporean medical organizations. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Tu - Rector said that the cooperation activities have brought practical benefits to the school's faculty and students. The school has been and is having breakthrough development orientations in science and technology to continue to affirm its leading position in the country and the region.

Mr. Nguyen Ngo Quang - Director of the Department of Science, Technology and Training (Ministry of Health) affirmed that the Ministry is committed to continuing to support and create favorable conditions for international cooperation in scientific research and transfer of medical technology to develop more and more, bringing practical benefits to the medical system and health care for the people of Vietnam and the world.

“With the mission of bringing health students of Phan Chau Trinh University to access advanced medical science in the world, the school promotes cooperation activities with many international organizations and prestigious universities, focusing on the fields of scientific research, international student exchange programs and training”. - Dr. Nguyen Xuan Huong - Director of the Center for International Research and Cooperation
