VFF and CFA signed a 3-year memorandum of understanding
VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan and CFA President Song Kai, representing the two federations, signed the agreement, marking an important step forward in promoting comprehensive cooperation between the two football federations.
According to the content of the memorandum of understanding, the two federations will strengthen coordination in key areas such as: exchanging coaches, referees, technical experts; coordinating the organization of friendly matches, training for men's, women's, youth and futsal teams; creating conditions for football teams to participate in international festivals and friendly tournaments; promoting cooperation between the V-League and the Chinese Super League, between national futsal tournaments; and sharing experience in managing and operating the professional football system and facilities.

Commenting on this very meaningful event, VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan believes that the memorandum of understanding between VFF and CFA will not only contribute to improving the professional and operational capacity of both football teams, but also open up practical opportunities for the development of youth football, women's football and futsal - priority areas of VFF in the coming period. VFF highly appreciates the companionship and practical support of CFA in recent times, especially in the training and friendly matches of national teams before participating in official international tournaments.
CFA President Song Kai also emphasized the strategic significance of the memorandum of understanding between the two federations, affirming that this event is not only an important milestone in the professional football cooperation between the two countries, but also contributes to deepening and expanding the traditional friendship between China and Vietnam. The two sides will continue to carry out practical cooperation, learn from each other and jointly improve the overall level of Asian football on the basis of this memorandum.
In order to realize the cooperation content, in the coming time, CFA will organize a number of specific events and activities. It is expected that in January 2026, CFA will organize an international women's football tournament to prepare for the 2026 Women's Asian Cup finals and invite the Vietnamese women's team to participate. Along with that, in the preparation roadmap for the 33rd SEA Games and the 2026 AFC U-23 Finals, the Vietnam U-22 team is expected to participate in the international U-22 tournament organized by CFA in November.

Promote exchange programs and professional development
The two federations also agreed to promote the referee exchange program, through which referees from each country will have the opportunity to officiate at professional tournaments in the other country to improve their management capacity and professional experience. In addition, with modern facilities and well-organized work, CFA affirmed its readiness to welcome Vietnamese teams and clubs to train and compete in friendly matches in China. Notably, the two sides also agreed to strengthen coordination and support each other in international football forums, contributing to consolidating the position and common voice of the continent.
Immediately after the signing ceremony, VFF and CFA held a "Football Development Seminar" with the participation of leaders of the two federations and leaders of CFA's specialized departments, including: national team, women's football, youth football, referees, competition organization and technique. The Vietnamese side presented an overview of the strategy for developing teams, training human resources, organizing tournaments and managing operations. The two sides also discussed in detail the action plans, agreeing to gradually and effectively implement the cooperation content in a practical and flexible spirit.

Over the past time, VFF and CFA have maintained active connections through many practical activities. Notably, Vietnamese teams have continuously participated in tournaments and training sessions in China: U.22 Vietnam participated in CFA Team China 2024 and 2025; U.16 Vietnam participated in an international youth tournament in Inner Mongolia; Vietnamese women's futsal played friendly matches and participated in the 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship in Hohhot.
The Memorandum of Understanding between VFF and CFA is valid for 3 years, automatically extended for 2 more years if there are no changes, thereby creating a strategic cooperation framework, contributing to improving professional quality and strengthening the connection between Vietnamese and Chinese football in the context of strong integration of regional and continental football.
