Ho Chi Minh City honors bus force promoting digital transformation in the transport sector

The 2025 Bus Driver and Service Staff Appreciation Program: “Appreciation for Companionship – Smart Connection” honors 30 outstanding individuals, while launching a competition to improve service quality and promote cashless payments in public transport.

Aiming for a modern, civilized and friendly public transport system, in addition to optimizing the network of routes, investing in and replacing means of transport, applying science and technology, digital transformation in operations and issuing sustainable development policies, the team of drivers and service staff - who are directly operating the bus routes every day - are the force that ensures stability, efficiency and service quality.

To recognize and honor the persistent contributions, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction and the Public Transport Management Center organized the program "Gratitude for companionship - Smart connection", to honor 30 outstanding individuals who are drivers and bus service staff from transport units in Ho Chi Minh City.

These are individuals who have been recognized for demonstrating a sense of responsibility, professional style and exemplary service attitude during their work. At the same time, the Department of Construction and the Public Transport Management Center launched a competition movement to improve service quality and the program "Touch evenly - Win prizes immediately", promoting cashless payments and moving towards a modern, people-friendly public transport system.

The event is part of the 2025 public transport communication support program, aiming to recognize and promote the outstanding contributions of bus drivers and service staff in maintaining the quality of operations and building the image of modern and civilized public transport. With a solemn organization and consistent message, the event contributes to strengthening the connection between the operating force and the management agency in the digital transformation journey.

To ensure service quality and promote operational efficiency, bus drivers and attendants will be evaluated based on the following specific criteria:

For drivers : Ensure traffic safety and do not violate the Road Traffic Law; always be aware and perform the right tasks to ensure the safety of passengers when traveling by bus; support passengers enthusiastically; ensure on-time operation and the number of trips as planned. Have good actions such as returning property left behind by passengers, participating in crime prevention or contributing to the general movement related to people transportation activities during holidays and organized events.

For service staff : Have a professional and dedicated service attitude, especially towards the elderly, children and the disadvantaged; no complaints from passengers about service attitude; actively support passengers in accessing digital payment methods. Have good deeds such as returning property left behind by passengers, participating in crime prevention or contributing to the general movement related to people's transportation activities during holidays and organized events.

The program also clearly demonstrates Ho Chi Minh City's determination in the strategy of comprehensive digital transformation in the public passenger transport sector. Under the direction and coordination of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction and the Public Transport Management Center, the city's bus system is gradually integrating cashless payments and connecting with metro, river buses and public bicycles.

The activity of honoring the operating team is also a way to spread a positive image of public transport to the people. Thereby, contributing to strengthening people's trust in efforts to improve services, enhance the experience of using public transport and promote digital payment habits in the city's modern urban life.

The campaign aims to improve the quality of public transport services, encourage drivers and service staff to proactively innovate their professional style, enhance their skills in supporting passengers in accessing digital payments, and contribute to building the image of modern public transport.

Competition effectiveness will be evaluated through the total number of cashless transactions recorded on each vehicle's POS system. Routes with outstanding results on a weekly and monthly basis will be recognized and awarded to recognize the efforts of the operating force in the digital transformation process.

The competition not only motivates drivers and service staff to actively innovate and improve service quality, but also demonstrates Ho Chi Minh City's commitment to promoting digital payments and modernizing the public transport system.
