Ho Chi Minh City opens 4 key traffic projects

After 13 months of construction, Phuoc Long bridge officially opened to traffic on the morning of December 30.

Mr. Trinh Linh Phuong, Deputy Director of TCIP, said that the four projects that will be put into operation at the same time include: Phuoc Long Bridge connecting District 7 and Nha Be District; HC1 underpass (Nguyen Van Linh-Nguyen Huu Tho intersection); National Highway 50 parallel road, from Trinh Quang Nghi Street to the intersection of the parallel road and National Highway 50 (Binh Chanh District); Tan Ky Tan Quy Road upgrade and expansion project in Binh Tan District.

Phuoc Long Bridge connects Nha Be district and District 7, creating momentum for socio -economic development.

Mr. Phuong added that among the above projects, the Phuoc Long bridge project was constructed within 13 months from the date of receiving 100% of the site.

Phuoc Long Bridge is newly built with reinforced concrete and prestressed reinforced concrete, 359m long, 10.5m wide.

The project has a total investment of 737 billion VND. Of which, the construction cost is 168 billion VND; the compensation, support and resettlement cost is 515 billion VND with 4 organizations and 72 households in District 7 and Nha Be District having to carry out compensation, support and resettlement.

Mr. Bui Xuan Cuong, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee requested that after the traffic opening, TCIP, together with contractors and consultants, continue to complete construction items at the Nguyen Van Linh - Nguyen Huu Tho intersection to put the entire intersection into operation before January 20, 2025.

In the coming time, TCIP with the support of the Department of Transport and related units will focus on accelerating the construction progress, disbursement progress, continuing to complete and put into service the people before the Lunar New Year 2025 the following packages and projects: a unit of Tang Long bridge; Duong Quang Ham street (Phase 1); Hoang Hoa Tham street; Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connecting road (Phase 1); Tan Ky Tan Quy bridge; Ba Hom bridge; Ba Dat bridge, Giong Ong To 2 bridge of An Phu intersection; Luong Dinh Cua street (section from Nguyen Hoang to Tran Nao intersection), Hang Bang canal (District 5)...

Also on the morning of December 30, 2024, right after the opening ceremony of Phuoc Long bridge, the HC1 tunnel branch of the Nguyen Van Linh-Nguyen Huu Tho intersection construction project was also put into operation.
