According to statistics on reputable car buying and selling sites, the Top 10 most searched used cars in the first half of 2025 are mainly Japanese cars. These are all models that have built a long-standing reputation for durability, value retention and ease of repair – key factors for used car buyers. Of which, Japanese cars with products from Toyota, Honda, Mazda cover most of the Top 10 positions, leaving only a small part for Korean cars.
The list of 10 most searched used cars in the first half of 2025 lacks green cars (including electric cars and hybrid cars), which are the trend and focus of long-term competitive strategies of car manufacturers.
Currently, most new car buyers are mainly interested in SUVs, sedans are becoming less attractive, while on the used car market, sedans are more popular than SUVs. For example, in the 5 car models with the most searches on the used car market including Toyota Vios (867,962 searches), Toyota Innova (613,872 searches), Honda Civic (566,355 searches), Toyota Camry (563,499 cars) and Mazda 3 (526,620 cars), there are 4 sedan models and only 1 SUV model, Innova.
Notably, the A-class hatchback group - which used to be in the top 10 with models such as Kia Morning and Hyundai Grand i10 - completely disappeared from the rankings in 2025. Coincidentally, the top positions in new car sales did not have the presence of A-class hatchbacks, on the contrary, the list of the worst-selling cars in the market recorded the presence of Kia Morning - a model that was very popular for a long time, from 2007 to 2018.
The fact that hatchbacks do not appear in the list of the 10 most searched cars on the market shows that the level of interest of users in this group of cars has decreased significantly. Designs that do not meet the needs of users and new car discount programs are the main reasons why this group of cars is gradually losing its appeal.
It can be seen that although the new car market is constantly changing its approach to customers, used cars still hold a certain position thanks to advantages such as having many diverse options, quick buying and selling, saving costs, reducing pressure when driving, especially for new drivers.
