Injury status of Quang Hai, Hai Long

After Doan Ngoc Tan, midfielder duo Quang Hai and Hai Long were injured and missed this training session of the Vietnamese team.

Quang Hai was injured in the match between CAHN and Hanoi on the evening of August 28, missing the Vietnam team.

The latest update from VFF said that two players Nguyen Quang Hai and Nguyen Hai Long could not participate in this training session due to injuries. Previously, midfielder Doan Ngoc Tan also suffered a broken rib in the match between Thanh Hoa and Ha Tinh in round 3 of V.League 2025/26. Although his health was stable after being hospitalized, the 31-year-old player did not recover in time to return.

According to Tri Thuc - Znews , Quang Hai and Hai Long were injured in the match between CAHN and Hanoi on the evening of August 28. In particular, the captain of CAHN was replaced in the second half, he showed signs of muscle strain.

CAHN wants Quang Hai to rest to ensure maximum safety for his physical condition when their schedule is packed with matches on 4 fronts. Hai Long has a sore ankle and needs a week of conservative treatment.

To strengthen his squad, coach Kim Sang-sik called up defender Phan Du Hoc from HAGL. The player, born in 2001, graduated from the 4th class of HAGL JMG Academy and played for the U23 Vietnam team before coach Kim Sang-sik took over.

In V.League, Du Hoc is often used in the HAGL squad and shows stable performance. On August 29, Du Hoc was present at the Vietnam team's base.

Hai Long needs 1 week for conservative treatment of injury.

Currently, the team has gathered with players from Hanoi, CAHN, Ninh Binh, Nam Dinh , CA TP.HCM and HAGL. The group of players from The Cong Viettel and Becamex TP.HCM will join after August 30, due to the late match schedule in round 3 of V.League 2025/26.

Notably, in addition to familiar faces such as Hoang Duc, Duy Manh, Bui Tien Dung, Thanh Chung and Tien Linh, the coaching staff also gave opportunities to many new faces such as striker Gia Hung, defender Hoang Phuc and young center back Quang Kiet.

While coach Kim Sang-sik is leading the U23 Vietnam team in the 2026 AFC U23 Championship Qualifiers, the national team will be temporarily managed by assistant Dinh Hong Vinh. During the training period at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, the Vietnam team will have two internal friendly matches, against CAHN on September 4 and Nam Dinh on September 7.
