News, pepper price forecast tomorrow 7/26/2025

Domestic pepper price on July 26, 2025

Domestic pepper prices on July 26, 2025 are forecast to remain stable or have a slight upward trend. According to Ms. Hoang Thi Lien, President of the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), the suppressed consumer demand in the first half of the year will soon be "released", encouraging importers to return to the market to supplement supply. This will create conditions for the market to recover, and in fact, the market has begun to show positive signs again.

However, it should be noted that Vietnam's pepper output in 2025 is estimated at 180,000 tons, down 10,000 tons compared to 2024 due to no expansion of new planting areas. Although pepper prices generally remain high and stable compared to the same period last year, the investment attraction in pepper has decreased significantly compared to durian and coffee.

In the second quarter of 2025, domestic pepper prices experienced many fluctuations. After remaining stable and increasing slightly in April, prices began to adjust downward in May and June due to information about US import tariffs and the effective date of the amended VAT Law. Pepper prices hit a bottom of VND123,000/kg in the third week of June. However, prices then recovered quickly and stabilized around VND140,000/kg until now. This recovery is believed to be due to businesses returning to buy for stockpiling and expecting the export market to be active again in the fourth quarter.

Given the above factors, although there may still be some minor fluctuations due to policy factors and business sentiment, the overall trend is expected to be positive, especially when international demand picks up again.

Pepper price on July 26, 2025 on the world market

In the global market, pepper prices on July 26, 2025 are expected to remain stable with some minor fluctuations, especially for Indonesian pepper varieties as seen in the latest report. Import demand is forecast to increase in the second half of the year, as importers are forced to replenish supplies. This could support pepper prices in the international market.

Prices of pepper varieties such as Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570, Malaysian black pepper ASTA, Vietnamese black pepper 500 g/l and 550 g/l, Malaysian white pepper ASTA, and Vietnamese white pepper ASTA are expected to remain stable in the absence of major fluctuations. Indonesian black and white pepper may continue to record small fluctuations within the range of +/- 0.1 USD/ton.

Overall, the world pepper market is showing more positive signs, and is expected to improve in the second half of the year. However, factors related to tax policies and competition with other crops are still points that need to be closely monitored.
