"The demand for smartphones in emerging markets is driving sales during the holiday shopping season. Xiaomi and Transsion Group had a strong quarter in the mid-range and low-end segments in African and Middle Eastern markets," said Sanyam Chaurasia, an analyst at Canalys.

According to forecasts from some experts, the global smartphone market will grow slightly in 2024.

"Smartphone makers will end 2023 with more stable inventory levels. However, geopolitical uncertainties will affect business in many regions.
