Found the body of the victim in the boat sinking incident on Ba River

"After many days of mobilizing human resources and means to search, at 10:05 a.m. on September 17, the body of Ms. D.TB - the victim of the boat sinking on the Ba River was found," said Mr. Nguyen Truong Thi, Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Hoa 1 Commune.

As reported by Dak Lak Newspaper, at around 3am on September 15, the authorities received a report from the people that Ms. D.TB (in Phu Loc village, Phu Hoa 1 commune) and her husband, Mr. Vo Duy Hung (61 years old), were rowing a boat across the river to pick vegetables, but unfortunately the boat hit a rock and sank.

Both fell into the water. Mr. Hung tried to help his wife swim to shore, but because the river water was high and flowing rapidly, he was exhausted, causing Mrs. B. to slip out of his arms and be swept away.

Rescue workers found the victim's body and brought it to shore.

On the morning of September 15, the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department (Provincial Police) mobilized officers, soldiers and swimming and diving equipment to the scene. Here, the unit coordinated with the Police, the Military Command of Phu Hoa 1 Commune and local people to mobilize boats to expand the search area.

At 10:05 a.m. on September 17, authorities found the victim's body drifting on the left bank of the downstream Ba River, about 2 km from the scene of the boat sinking.

After bringing the body ashore, authorities conducted an autopsy before handing it over to the family for funeral arrangements.
