According to the report of the functional sector, by June 16, Chu town had harvested and consumed about 12.8 thousand tons of lychee, reaching 29.8% of the total output. Luc Ngan district harvested and consumed 12.9 thousand tons, reaching 21.3% of the total output. The lychee output consumed in the two localities is mainly early lychee, the main crop lychee is starting to be harvested.
Lychee consumption in the domestic market accounts for about 80%, mainly concentrated in wholesale markets, traditional markets, wholesale agents, retailers, supermarkets, etc.
Currently, customs clearance and export of lychees through Lao Cai and Lang Son border gates are basically smooth. The selling price of lychees grown and cared for according to VietGAP and GlobalGAP processes is stable and high. In Luc Ngan district and Chu town, there are currently more than 3,000 lychee drying kilns; many establishments producing styrofoam boxes and ice blocks to serve lychee consumption activities...

Discussing here, delegates stated that in order for lychee consumption to take place smoothly, the People's Committee of Luc Ngan district and Chu town need to pay attention to directing specialized agencies to guide people to strictly follow the care process, monitor the growing area code, and ensure the quality of lychee. Actively guide and support people to harvest lychee in each area; avoid collecting at one time...
At the same time, strengthen the grasp of market information, provide accurate information on consumption situation; facilitate purchasing enterprises; check and monitor food hygiene and safety conditions at processing and drying facilities...
Speaking at the meeting, comrade Nguyen Viet Oanh requested Luc Ngan district and Chu town to urgently assess the remaining lychee output, on that basis, deploy consumption scenarios in specific markets.
The two localities established a Steering Committee for lychee consumption to direct consumption; manage production teams, weighing points, and cooperatives to coordinate well and avoid price gouging.
The provincial police actively directed functional forces to coordinate with localities to carry out tasks to ensure smooth traffic safety. The electricity sector ensured plans, prioritized power sources, and avoided interruptions to best serve lychee consumption.
In the long term, people and cooperatives must strictly follow the high-tech production process, improving the quality and economic value of lychees. The province will consider policies to support deep processing of lychees. The Department of Industry and Trade and the Department of Agriculture and Environment will review the planning and propose solutions to reorganize production activities...
Previously, comrade Nguyen Viet Oanh visited and inspected some lychee production areas; purchasing points, ice block production facilities, and met with some lychee purchasing traders in Giap Son commune (Luc Ngan).
