At the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh acknowledged the contributions of the ERIA Institute in cooperation with Vietnam over the past years; highly appreciated the quality of research products that the ERIA Institute and Vietnamese research agencies have recently implemented.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that ERIA continue to closely coordinate with Vietnamese agencies and research institutes to promote research and policy advice.
In particular, the Prime Minister hopes that ERIA will accompany Vietnam in the process of researching and promoting new growth drivers, improving productivity, quality, and competitiveness of the economy, especially in digital transformation, green transformation, and circular economy, etc. to contribute to the implementation of the goal of rapid, sustainable development and double-digit economic growth for the coming decades that Vietnam has set.
The Prime Minister also hopes that ERIA will continue to closely cooperate with Vietnam in the coming time to research new contents, ideas, and initiatives for the organization of the upcoming ASEAN Future Forum (AFF) and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) when Vietnam hosts APEC in 2027.

For his part, Professor Tetsuya Watanabe thanked Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh for taking the time to receive the ERIA delegation, expressing his impression of Vietnam's vision and determination expressed through the content of the Prime Minister's important speech at the WEF Tianjin.
Sharing the Prime Minister's view on the need to find new growth drivers for Vietnam, Prof. Tetsuya Watanabe affirmed that he will continue to cooperate closely and long-term with Vietnam's departments, ministries and research agencies to propose new ideas, making practical and effective contributions to the implementation of Vietnam's development goals.
Considering that ASEAN is at a turning point and needs to improve its self-reliance, Mr. Watanabe expressed his hope that Vietnam will continue to affirm its role in leading ASEAN, and pledged to continue to closely coordinate with Vietnam to implement initiatives within the ASEAN framework such as the AFF.
On this occasion, Prof. Tetsuya Watanabe respectfully invited Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to attend the annual high-level policy forum that ERIA periodically organizes in Jakarta (Indonesia).

ERIA is a prestigious research institute that has cooperated closely and effectively with Vietnamese agencies in recent times, especially the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, the Central Policy and Strategy Committee and the Diplomatic Academy (Ministry of Foreign Affairs).
