Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son has just signed a decision to recognize Mr. Quach Hoai Nam, Vice Principal of Nha Trang University, as the Principal of this university from August 14.

Mr. Quach Hoai Nam, born in 1974, originally from Thai Binh (old). He is a former student of Nha Trang University, then studied for his master's and doctorate at this university. Before being recognized as the Principal, he was a senior lecturer and Vice Principal of the university.

Nha Trang University was formerly the Faculty of Fisheries, under the Hanoi Academy of Agriculture and Forestry, established on August 1, 1959, then separated and named the School of Fisheries on August 16, 1966.

In 1976, the School moved from Hai Phong City to Nha Trang City (Khanh Hoa Province) and changed its name to University of Seafood (1977) and University of Fisheries (1980).

In 2006, the Prime Minister decided to change the name to Nha Trang University. Nha Trang University is a public service unit under the Ministry of Education and Training.
