Su 30-MK2 fighter jets drop jamming shells, helicopters raise flags in the capital's sky

When the sound of helicopters began to echo in the sky above central Hanoi , the capital's residents all looked up to the sky.

At 7:00 a.m., 9 helicopters took off from Hoa Lac airport and circled back to the city center from Nhat Tan bridge amid cheers from the people.

Next came the appearance of the Casa transport aircraft, the Yak-130 multi-role aircraft, the L-39NG training aircraft and the Su-30MK2 fighter .

The area around West Lake is where people can watch the entire flight. Since the afternoon of August 29, many people have been present in this area waiting for the performance of the Vietnam People's Air Force pilots.

Hearing the sound of the wind, a child shouted "su ga, su ga" and pointed at the group of fighters. The cheers grew louder as each Su-30 fighter jet dropped its heat traps.

Luckily to witness the entire performance up close, Ms. Do Thi Kim Oanh (Long Bien, Hanoi) is still nervous.

"This is the first time I have seen the performance of helicopters, Su 30-MK2 fighters and other types of aircraft. I myself and those around me could not contain my emotions every time the aircraft appeared.

The flag-raising helicopter brought a sense of heroism and pride when the Party flag and the national flag fluttered in the capital's sky. The Su-30MK2 fighter jet dropping heat traps, along with the birds flying around, made me love the peace and independence of the nation even more," Ms. Oanh was moved.

As for Dieu Linh, although she could not go to the parade viewing spots, she chose to wake up early to wait for the pilots' performance in the sky.

"Only a few days left until the 80th anniversary of National Day, as a young person, witnessing the wonderful moments in the sky, I am even more grateful to the previous generations.

My grandmother used to tell me that in the past, when we heard the sound of an airplane, we would immediately carry each other to find shelter. But now we can eagerly look up at the sky, waiting for the beauty of peace and freedom," Dieu Linh shared.
