Trade between Guangxi (China) and ASEAN increases sharply

Data released by Nanning Customs on August 16 showed that in the first six months of this year, the total import and export turnover of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region reached 345.28 billion yuan (about 47.6 billion USD), up 12% year-on-year.

Among major trading partners, import and export between Guangxi and ASEAN - the largest partner of this locality, reached 185.62 billion yuan (25.6 billion USD), up 26.7%.

Of which, import and export between Guangxi and Vietnam continued to maintain strong growth, with total turnover reaching nearly 144 billion yuan (nearly 20 billion USD), up 35.6% over the same period last year, accounting for 16.4% of total trade turnover between China and Vietnam.

In addition, the import and export of nine cities in mainland China in the Greater Bay Area including Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao through Guangxi's ports reached 70.46 billion yuan (over 9.7 billion USD), up 31.6%, of which more than 80% was with ASEAN countries.

Vietnam's manufacturing sector has been growing again as global demand recovers. In the first half of this year, Guangxi exported 63.67 billion yuan (nearly 8.8 billion USD) of intermediate products to Vietnam, up 50.3%.

In order to strengthen the traditional foreign trade market, in the first 6 months of this year, Guangxi visited Vietnam twice to conduct trade and investment connection activities, and organized for 26 enterprises to participate in the 3rd China (Vietnam) Trade Exhibition in Vietnam.
