Prime Minister Hun Manet's new order stressed: "All ministries, agencies and local governments must strengthen regular inspections by conducting checks on civil servants, national police and military, as well as contract officials under their supervision to detect any drug use or involvement in drug trafficking."

The order has been sent to relevant ministries, agencies, capital authorities, provincial governors and local officials to inspect their officials and handle them according to criminal law.

Mr Hun Manet also called on Cambodia’s Interior, Defense and Civil Service ministries to share any data on officials arrested for drug crimes and dismiss them. “It is the responsibility of the relevant ministry to dismiss such people,” Mr Hun Manet stressed.

The Cambodian government recognizes that the danger posed by drug-related crimes continues to spread alarmingly in the region and globally, according to Khmer Times .
