Notably, the electric motorbike segment in Vietnam continued to grow strongly in the first 6 months of 2025, with VinFast and Yadea being two brands that made a clear mark.
According to statistics from Motorcycles Data, growth was recorded in most segments. In particular, scooters continued to lead with an increase of 18.7%, while large-displacement motorcycles, although smaller in scale, also had a fairly large growth rate of up to 61.1%.

The electric motorbike segment is showing outstanding growth. The L1 electric motorbike group (equivalent to gasoline motorbikes under 50cc), which is aimed at students, recorded a growth rate of 112.6%. A series of new products such as Yamaha NEO's, VinFast Motio, Honda ICON :e or Yadea Vekoo along with incentive programs have contributed to stimulating consumer demand in this group.
At the same time, the L3 electric vehicle group (equivalent to over 50cc) also increased by 52.6% over the same period, showing the increasing popularity of electric motorbikes in Vietnam.

In terms of brands, Honda continues to lead the two-wheeler market with more than 1.1 million newly registered vehicles, accounting for nearly 80% of the market share. Yamaha ranked second with 66,260 vehicles, up 20% year-on-year. VinFast ranked third with 59,691 vehicles sold and a remarkable growth of 501%, reflecting the rapid growth in the electric vehicle segment.
Next are Espero (2%) and Yadea (1%). Of these, VinFast and Yadea are two pure electric brands, while Espero sells both electric and gasoline vehicles.

Besides domestic brands such as VinFast, Dat Bike, Pega or Selex Motors, the electric motorbike market also records a strong presence of Chinese brands, creating diversity in designs and prices.
Currently, users can own an electric motorbike with a starting price of 12 million VND. The 20 - 30 million VND segment accounts for a large proportion with models such as VinFast Evo200, Feliz Neo/S, Honda ICON e: or Yadea Velax. The high-end segment is priced from 35 - 50 million VND or more.

The strong growth of electric motorbikes also comes from the policy context. The government is gradually tightening the operation of gasoline motorbikes in large cities such as Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to reduce pollution. This encourages traditional brands such as Honda and Yamaha to accelerate the transition to electric vehicles.
In the near future, the Vietnamese two-wheeled vehicle market is expected to continue to grow, with a focus on electrification and fierce competition between domestic and foreign brands.
