EU-GMP certification - a strict measure of the international pharmaceutical industry
In the pharmaceutical industry, quality is a non-negotiable factor and must always be guaranteed to be the best. Therefore, the European Union has introduced EU-GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) standards - a set of strict regulations to monitor the entire drug production process: from personnel, factories, equipment, hygiene to product quality.
To achieve this certification, each factory must undergo rigorous field assessments by international experts, including verification of records, operating procedures and testing capabilities. EU-GMP is like an affirmation of prestige, guaranteeing high quality products worldwide , regardless of whether the drug is produced domestically or imported.
In the context of the problem of counterfeit and poor quality drugs still existing, EU-GMP certification is a "filter" to help protect consumers and strengthen trust in genuine pharmaceutical businesses.
UIP and EU-GMP certification in 2025 - Marks on the development journey
United International Pharma (UIP) is a member of Unilab Group - one of the big names in the healthcare sector in Southeast Asia. The Group currently operates in 10 countries in the region, owns 12 modern factories and more than 350 pharmaceutical brands trusted by millions of consumers.

With the motto “Together for health, Together for life”, UIP started its journey in Vietnam more than 30 years ago and has constantly changed its technology and developed new products to improve the quality of treatment for the community. In the past two years, the group has made efforts to invest in improving processes, modernizing technology and training human resources, with the goal of meeting the most stringent requirements from Europe.
As a result, early 2025 marked a proud milestone for the business: the UIP factory located in VSIP 2 Industrial Park, Binh Duong was awarded EU-GMP certification, in addition to a series of existing certifications such as WHO-GMP- GLP-GSP, ISO and OHSAS.
According to statistics, among the pharmaceutical factories in Vietnam that have met GMP standards, only less than 10% continue to pass the strict requirements to obtain EU-GMP certification. The fact that UIP is in this very small group not only affirms its production capacity according to international standards, but also opens up opportunities for drugs produced in Vietnam to reach out and affirm their position in the regional market.
Currently, only more than 20 factories in Vietnam have achieved this rigorous certification (Photo: UIP).
EU-GMP certification at UIP is applied to many products familiar to consumers such as Decolgen, Alaxan, Kremil-S, Enervon, Obimin. These are all products that have been on the market for many years, and are now guaranteed by international standards, contributing to increasing consumer confidence.
In the context of widespread counterfeit and poor quality drugs causing confusion among consumers, the fact that a domestic factory has been recognized by EU-GMP is an affirmation of UIP's commitment: to provide reliable, high-quality pharmaceutical products that are still affordable to the community.
For a community with access to high quality medicines according to international standards
The event of UIP achieving EU-GMP certification is not only a milestone for a business, but also has great significance for the health of the community. Instead of depending on "foreign drugs" - which have the potential risk of being counterfeited and are often expensive, Vietnamese people can now easily access internationally standardized pharmaceutical products right in the country, at reasonable prices, suitable for domestic market conditions.

Not only contributing to improving treatment effectiveness, each EU-GMP standard pill also conveys a message about Vietnamese intelligence and bravery. In the context of increasing demand for health care as it is today, Vietnamese people can still feel secure in choosing products manufactured right in their homeland with good quality equal to the international market.
The appearance of international standard factories in Vietnam will strengthen people's trust in "Made in Vietnam" products, add confidence in the internal strength of the domestic pharmaceutical industry and look forward to Vietnam's upcoming international future.
