On June 24, Ho Chi Minh City National University issued a notice of the conclusion of the Advisory Council of the Visiting Professor Program on approving the list of 21 qualified candidates to participate in the Visiting Professor Program (3rd batch in 2025).
Notably, this time there are 13 visiting professors with in-depth expertise in the fields of information technology (IT), artificial intelligence (AI) and semiconductors participating in the program, coming from many developed countries such as the UK, France, Canada, Japan, Korea, Australia and Singapore.
Besides the technology sector, the remaining eight candidates have deep expertise in the fields of applied mathematics and optimization, cryptography, statistics, biology, biotechnology, botany, ecology and environmental engineering.
These 21 professors will participate in teaching and research at member units under Ho Chi Minh City National University such as University of Technology, University of Natural Sciences, University of Information Technology, University of Economics and Law, An Giang University and Institute for Circular Economy Development Research.
Some of the leading experts who will be visiting professors at Ho Chi Minh City National University this time include Professor Han The Anh (Teesside University, UK) - specializing in artificial intelligence and multi-agent systems; Professor Tran Thanh Long (Warwick University, UK) - specializing in artificial intelligence; Professor Kiyofumi Tanaka (Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) - specializing in digital infrastructure, and Professor Ki-Ryong Kwon (Global Fintech Promotion Center in Busan, Korea) - specializing in electronic engineering, computer engineering and artificial intelligence.

Ho Chi Minh City National University has developed a Visiting Professor Program with the goal of inviting and appointing 100 visiting professors in the period 2025-2030. The program aims to connect global intellectuals, enhance international cooperation, and improve the quality of training and research at Ho Chi Minh City National University as well as Vietnam.
Visiting professor is a position appointed by the director of Ho Chi Minh City National University, working on a part-time basis, performing teaching and research in person or online.
