The numbers of visitors increasing over the years are a vivid proof of the breakthrough of Ha Tinh tourism: from 3.36 million in 2023, to 5.6 million in 2024 and expected to reach 6.5 million in 2025; in the first 5 months of 2025 alone, the number exceeded 2.8 million. Behind these numbers are countless efforts of the entire political system, including tourism reporters who work tirelessly day and night to promote the beauty of their homeland.

As a reporter specializing in the field of culture and tourism of Ha Tinh Newspaper, I have been to almost all destinations in the province. From the sunny coastal countryside to the peaceful mountains, wherever I go, I try to touch the local life to bring the soul of each land into each article and frame. There are long trips with the survey team of the department, there are spontaneous trips wandering alone. But no matter the form, along with the camera, notebook, my colleagues and I all carry in our hearts full of enthusiasm.

I still remember meeting Mr. Fred Rizal - a Malaysian businessman - during a survey trip to Ha Tinh tourism in September 2024. The group had more than 30 travel businesses from Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Hue and Da Nang. Fred - who has lived in Vietnam for 7 years, honestly shared: “I know a lot about Hoi An, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City... but Ha Tinh is almost a blank space. Until I happened to read a few articles about Ha Tinh tourism on the internet, that awakened my curiosity. And now, after experiencing it firsthand, I am really surprised because your homeland is so beautiful, so potential”.

During the trip, I took the opportunity to tell Fred about the history of Ke Go Lake, about the vestiges and legends of Dong Loc T-junction, about the festivals imbued with the identity of coastal fishing villages... He listened attentively, then suddenly said: "You are doing the job of a tour guide with your pen. Keep going, because Ha Tinh deserves to be known more." That saying followed me throughout the journey and even later as a reminder of the silent mission of journalism. Every reporter like me is not only a reflector, but also an inspirer, a storyteller of the homeland.
Working as a travel journalist, I understand that introducing a destination is not just about listing beautiful landscapes and delicious food, but more importantly, providing a realistic and responsible perspective. We must write in a way that readers can see the potential but also recognize the limitations, so that tourism professionals and managers can read, think, worry and act.

The series of reports "Bringing Ha Tinh tourism to develop to the level of a key economic sector" consisting of 4 articles, won the B prize - Tran Phu Journalism Award in 2023, is a product that my colleagues and I have cherished for many months. We not only traveled to each key tourist destination but also interviewed dozens of leading experts from the Central to major cities, businesses in and outside the province, managers... to peel off the "bottlenecks" and "bottlenecks" that make it difficult for Ha Tinh tourism to break through. That report, in addition to vivid images and footage, is also a wholehearted message put into each word with the hope of contributing to reshaping the mindset of sustainable tourism in our province.

In the digital age, each reporter is not only a writer but also a storyteller through images, videos, and sounds. To capture the beauty of our homeland, we have to invest in more cameras, flycams, wide-angle lenses, etc. Early mornings driving down to Thach Hai and Thien Cam beaches, in the afternoons going up to Huong Son to Son Kim and Son Trung, and on hot summer afternoons patiently waiting for the moment when the sunlight shines on Ke Go Lake, etc. That is the job, but also the nameless joy of journalism.
Journalist Kieu Anh - who has been associated with the TV show "Non nuoc Hong Lam" for many years shared: "My team and I always seek to bring meticulous frames, attractive and authentic stories. Each episode is a journey to learn about the culture, history, specialties and identity of each region. We always try to make each episode not only beautiful, but also real and close, so that viewers feel like they are experiencing it themselves. Thereby, eagerly looking forward to immersing themselves in the scenery and people of each destination of Non nuoc Hong Lam".

Journalist Kieu Anh's passion is also the common thought of me and many reporters writing about homeland tourism. We see ourselves as the ones who sow the seeds. With each article, each video, we silently aim to cultivate in the public's hearts interest, curiosity, then love and pride in the land of Hong Mountain - La River.
Not flashy, not bustling, the work of the tourism reporter team is sometimes a quiet journey. But it is that quietness that contributes to elevating destinations that seem to be forgotten, awakening the potential of unknown lands. The role of the press - not only to reflect, but also to accompany, connect, and inspire - is becoming increasingly important in the development of the "smokeless industry".

We believe that, with the enthusiasm, love for the homeland and professional investment of the press team, the development of Ha Tinh tourism will be spread more widely. But to make that journey go further, we need attention, support and creating conditions for the press to continue to play the role of a companion of the smokeless industry.
