According to a representative of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, recently, the American International School has been suspended from educational activities and the Department has issued documents guiding the implementation of reports with evidence of fully overcoming the causes leading to the suspension.

Last June, the Department had a meeting with representatives of AIS American International Education Joint Stock Company and American International School on the progress of the dossier to remedy the causes leading to the suspension of educational activities, and requested the investor to report with evidence of this.

However, on June 18, Mr. Ho Quang Trung, on behalf of AIS American International Education Joint Stock Company and American International School, signed a report and application to extend the suspension of educational activities at this school until June 30, 2026.

However, the document of this unit has not yet stated the content of the violation correction. Thus, by the end of the suspension period (first time), American International School has not corrected the cause leading to the suspension.

The Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City has also sent a document on providing information related to AIS American International Education Joint Stock Company and American International School to the Department of Finance; Department of Agriculture and Environment; Department of Home Affairs; City Social Insurance; City Tax Department; Tax Department of District 7 - Nha Be.

At the end of June, the Department received responses from the Department of Home Affairs, the District 7 - Nha Be Inter-District Tax Team, and the Social Insurance of Region XXVI, which clearly stated the remaining issues of AIS American International Education Joint Stock Company and American International School such as not reporting on labor use in the first 6 months of 2025 according to Government regulations; The company's headquarters has been closed, the company has not fulfilled its tax declaration obligations for March and April 2025. The total amount of late payment to the Social Insurance, Health Insurance, Unemployment Insurance, and Occupational Accident and Disease Insurance funds is more than 31 billion VND.

"Thus, by the end of June 2025, the investor does not have an effective financial plan to resolve and pay debts to other management agencies," the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training affirmed.

The Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City emphasized that the suspension period of the American International School has expired but it has not yet resolved the cause and has not reported its financial capacity to maintain its operations. Therefore, the Department of Education and Training has submitted to the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City for consideration and decision to dissolve the school according to the Law on Education. In case the investor meets the conditions, the dossier will be prepared for appraisal and permission to establish a general school with many levels according to current regulations.
