The "push" that makes an impression
The Job Fair, organized by the University of Finance and Marketing (UFM) today (June 14), gathered more than 50 prestigious businesses and recruitment organizations, offering about 3,500 attractive job positions for students.
To actually turn this opportunity into a job, students need to prepare thoroughly and understand what employers are looking for.
According to MSc. Nguyen Thi Kim Phung, Deputy Head of UFM's Admissions, Communications and Corporate Relations Department, the first impressive point to pay attention to is the job application (CV). CV is not only a list of achievements but also an effective self-PR tool.
"To make the most of the opportunities at the festival, students need to prepare their CVs professionally and with direction," emphasized MSc. Phung.
She suggests the key points for a quality CV are clarity and honesty. Students should focus on highlighting their education, skills, extracurricular activities, projects or internships that are relevant to the position they are applying for.
CV design should be neat, easy to read, avoid being colorful and cumbersome. PDF format is always the preferred choice to ensure your CV displays properly on all devices.
Ms. Phung emphasized that each CV needs to be "tailored" to the position, that is, it needs to be adjusted according to the position applied for. The female master advises students not to use one CV for all, but to adjust the content to highlight the skills and experience that best suit the requirements of each specific business.
Another thing to note is to always have 5-10 printed copies ready to submit directly at the booths, showing professionalism and initiative.

Along with that, students need to prepare their mindset and skills for a short interview, confidently introduce themselves within 1 minute to create sympathy and attract attention right from the start. Besides, MSc. Kim Phung advises students to dress politely, neatly, and have an elegant style, showing respect for the employer.
Another plus is being proactive and open-minded. Young people should not be afraid to ask questions, seek advice and show a desire to learn. Researching information about the company in advance (company name, field of operation, recruitment position) will help you make a strong impression during the conversation.
"Consider every conversation with an employer as a real interview. This is a valuable opportunity for you to practice your communication skills, demonstrate your abilities and open the first door to the professional labor market," Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Phung shared some tips to conquer employers.
Passion is the key
From the business side, Ms. Trang Do, Head of Human Resources, MayBank Securities Company, has given specific criteria for candidates, especially in the brokerage industry, a challenging but also opportunistic field.
According to Ms. Trang, to have good job opportunities, students need to clearly define their goals and nurture their passion.
“The important thing is to identify what you want and nurture that passion. Along with passion, a solid knowledge base is also indispensable. In addition, perseverance and patience are also key factors to survive and develop in the industry,” Ms. Trang shared.

On the recruitment day, Maybank has 20-25 official recruitment positions for sales and brokerage. In addition, the company is also looking for 5 team leader positions, requiring 5-6 years of experience in securities brokerage. With the internship position, the company always opens its doors to students who are passionate about securities.
Regarding salary, Ms. Trang emphasized that the income of a broker will include salary, allowances and commissions. She revealed that a broker with a stable number of customers can completely achieve an average income of 15-20 million VND/month.
"For the internship position, anyone who is passionate about finance, stocks, and willing to work hard and "plow" is qualified," said Ms. Trang Do.
Dr. Le Trung Dao, Vice Principal of the University of Finance and Marketing, said that this year's integrated recruitment fair is expected to attract more than 5,000 participants, including students, alumni, trainees of the school, students from universities, colleges and high school students in Ho Chi Minh City.
In addition to recruitment activities, the festival also has many practical contents such as the program "Students - Pupils dialogue with CEO", career counseling, CV editing, direct interviews at the booth, cultural exchange and lucky draw.
