4-wheel electric car in Da Nang: Why is it still "stuck"?
According to actual records, although the People's Committee of Da Nang City has clearly defined routes for 4-wheel electric vehicles to operate, a series of electric vehicles in the center of Da Nang continue to "stand still".
The reason is that currently only 3 routes in An Thuong Tourist Area (Ngu Hanh Son Ward) have posted signs limiting speed to 30 km/h, including Hoang Ke Viem - Mai Thuc Lan - Ngo Thi Si, with a total length of approximately 1.5 km. "The routes with prohibition signs are too short and not continuous, so electric vehicles cannot operate" - an electric vehicle business owner stated the reason.
In An Thuong Tourist Area, 4-wheel electric vehicles are still not able to operate because the permitted routes are very limited.
Meanwhile, also in another famous tourist area in Da Nang (Hoi An Ancient Town, Hoi An Ward, Da Nang), 4-wheel electric vehicles operate quite "easily". Specifically, the above routes including Nguyen Tat Thanh, Ly Thuong Kiet, Tran Nhan Tong, Pham Ngu Lao, ... have 30 km/h speed limit signs designed seamlessly, more connected than An Thuong Tourist Area.
"In fact, during rush hour on the roads in Hoi An ancient town, vehicles cannot travel over 30 km/h, so posting such a sign is very reasonable, close to reality, creating conditions for electric vehicles to operate according to regulations" - an electric vehicle driver expressed.
As reported, before the proposal to add 30 km/h speed limit signs on busy tourist streets of electric vehicle businesses, the People's Committee of Da Nang City (old) assigned the Department of Construction to research and propose suitable locations to implement in accordance with regulations and actual traffic situations in the locality.
In Da Nang City alone (old), there are about 100 invested 4-wheel electric vehicles that have been "stagnant" for many months, no less than 200 workers have been laid off.
