On the afternoon of August 25, due to the impact of storm No. 5, some places in Quang Tri province had heavy rain. Quang Tri province focused on directing standing forces to stay close to the area, closely coordinating with local authorities to implement the "four on-site" motto, resolutely not letting people stay in dangerous places.

After reviewing, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province has directed the Military , Police, and Border Guard forces to coordinate with local authorities to organize the evacuation, relocation on-site and gather nearly 1,400 households with more than 4,100 people from vulnerable areas, with high risk of flash floods, landslides and deep flooding. It is known that currently in Quang Tri, there are 85 locations identified as being at risk of landslides, many vulnerable locations are at risk of flooding or are within the large area of influence of storm No. 5.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province has directed that departments, branches and localities must absolutely not be subjective or negligent in developing plans and completing evacuation plans to ensure absolute safety for people when necessary. To do this well, localities must identify and grasp the specific number of households and people who need to be evacuated; at the same time, arrange safe locations to receive people when bad situations occur.

To prevent the full effects of storm No. 5 causing flooding in low-lying areas, Quang Tri province has fully prepared essential reserves, including: 79,200 boxes of instant noodles, 12,900 boxes of dry food, 500 tons of rice, 21,000 boxes of bottled water, 245 tons of other essential goods; 22,000 m³ of gasoline and 20,850 m³ of diesel oil... to ensure meeting the needs of responding to and overcoming the consequences of storms and floods.

Due to the impact of storm No. 5, in the northern border area of Quang Tri province, there has been moderate to heavy rain, rising water levels in rivers and streams, causing local flooding of some traffic routes through border villages. The police forces of the communes are coordinating with the Border Guard Stations to continue to support the people to overcome the flood.
In some border areas of Quang Tri province, heavy rain combined with upstream water flowing into the area has caused local flooding of some tunnels, dams, and roads such as: At To Co stream (road to Sy, Cha Cap, Do - Ta Vong, Lom - Ka Cham villages), the water level is about 0.5m high; K Ai tunnel is 0.5m high; Ca Roong 1 tunnel to Ca Roong 2 village is 0.5m high; the tunnel to Co Do village, Thuong Trach commune is about 30cm high, the water level is continuing to rise; Kim Phu commune has 2 points, Kim Dien commune has 4 points... The commune police force in the areas is coordinating with related units to set up warnings, checkpoints, propaganda and prevent people from traveling to ensure safety.
