Phan Thiet: Completed 82 houses in the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses by 2025

BTO - On June 7, the Steering Committee for the implementation of the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in Phan Thiet City (City Steering Committee) held a conference to summarize the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the area in 2025. The work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in Phan Thiet City has been carried out in accordance with the direction and guidance of the Central Government, the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee and the set plan. Up to now, Phan Thiet City has completed the construction and handed over 82 houses to policy beneficiaries, poor households and difficult cases. Of these, 14 households are meritorious people (including 4 newly built houses, 10 repaired houses); 16 poor households (3 newly built houses, 13 repaired houses); 25 near-poor households (7 newly built houses, 18 repaired houses) and 27 other difficult households (14 newly built houses, 13 repaired houses).

Regarding funding, the total support for 14 meritorious households is 1.3 billion. For poor, near-poor and other disadvantaged households, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phan Thiet City has built and repaired 68 houses, with a total cost of 4.65 billion VND.

Speaking at the conference, Secretary of the City Party Committee Pham Van Nam assessed: The program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the city in 2025 has been implemented vigorously and achieved many positive results. This result was achieved thanks to the close leadership of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Steering Committee and the synchronous coordination of departments, branches and localities.

Responding to the emulation movement "Join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses by 2025", the entire political system from the city to the grassroots level has strongly participated, ensuring the progress and quality of the projects. The city has also been proactive in terms of resources and funding to successfully complete the program's goals. However, the Secretary of the City Party Committee also frankly pointed out some difficulties in the implementation process, such as the confusion in reviewing the subjects, there were cases that had to be removed from the list due to not meeting the support conditions according to regulations, affecting the overall progress...

On this occasion, the People's Committee of Phan Thiet City awarded certificates of merit to 5 collectives and 3 individuals with outstanding achievements in the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the city in 2025.
