Nvidiannews website announced that it will open the group's first R&D center in Vietnam, expressing confidence in the bright future of AI in Vietnam.

Nvidia said it will use the R&D center to focus on software development, take advantage of Vietnam's abundant STEM ( science , technology, engineering, mathematics) talent pool, and attract industry leaders, startups, government agencies, universities and students to accelerate AI adoption.

Mr. Jensen Huang - Founder and CEO of Nvidia said December 5, 2024 is the "birthday of Nvidia Vietnam" and affirmed that he will promote the AI industry in Vietnam. "We are very excited to open Nvidia's R&D center to promote Vietnam's AI journey" - CEO Jensen Huang said.

With Vietnam’s rapid expansion in technology, automotive, electronics, and textile manufacturing, Vietnam has become one of the fastest growing economies in the world. Vietnam’s AI market has also grown in recent years, supported by technological advancements, government support, and AI integration.

Since 2021, Vietnam has promoted AI development as part of its digital transformation strategy with the goal of promoting innovation, building a strong AI ecosystem and positioning the country as a leader in Southeast Asia in R&D.

Nvidia has been investing in Vietnam’s tech ecosystem for the past eight years and is working with more than 100 Vietnamese AI startups as part of its Inception program in addition to 65 universities across the country. Last year, Nvidia began working with FPT Smart Cloud as its first cloud partner in Vietnam.

Vietnam aims for annual revenue of more than $100 billion from the semiconductor industry by 2050 with the establishment of three large data centers and three AI centers by 2030.

For investors, the message couldn't be clearer: Vietnam is shaping up to become Southeast Asia's AI hub, and Nvidia is at the center of the action, Yahoonews said.

Sharing after the signing ceremony of the agreement to establish two AI centers with the Vietnamese Government on the evening of December 5, CEO Jensen Huang informed that Nvidia had acquired VinBrain from Vingroup Corporation to develop a large future design center in Vietnam.

The R&D center in Vietnam will develop valuable platforms for Nvidia and its partners to foster AI innovation. Researchers and startups will be able to use this infrastructure to develop AI applications for key industries such as healthcare, education, transportation, and finance.
