On the afternoon of June 13, Lieutenant Colonel Ho Dac Quoc and Colonel Bui Dinh Quyen, Deputy Commander of the Hue City Military Command, said that on the morning of the same day, heavy rain and rising water caused a 20-meter-long section of the inner-field dike in Thuy Phu commune, Huong Thuy town to break, seriously affecting hundreds of hectares of rice fields of the people.

Hue City Military Command directed Huong Thuy Town Military Command to mobilize more than 20 officers, soldiers, and militia forces to quickly coordinate with other forces to use thousands of bags of soil to fix the dike break.

Efforts to repair the broken dikes in Hue

On the same day, in Loc Son town, Phu Loc district, due to the impact of heavy rain and floods, a section of the dike in the Nam Son Cooperative area broke more than 7m. The Phu Loc District Military Command mobilized 15 officers, soldiers, militia, two excavators, hundreds of support piles and bags of soil to rescue the broken dike section. By noon on the same day, the dike section was basically repaired.
