Teacher's name is joy
“Teacher Duc Anh, Teacher Duc Anh is here!” That was the joyful cry of Ho Thi Lan and her sisters, living in Huc Thuong village, Khe Sanh commune, when they saw the figure of Teacher Le Duc Anh (born in 1986) looming from afar. For the past 5 years, the path leading to Lan and her sisters’ small house has been familiar with Teacher Anh’s footsteps. He appeared at the time when Lan’s family was at its most desperate. Her mother was mentally ill, and her father had just been diagnosed with a brain tumor. Therefore, Lan and her sisters did not know who to rely on.
To help the children, Mr. Duc Anh launched the program "Rice with Fish" and mobilized support from philanthropists. His kindness touched the hearts of many people. Thanks to that, for the past 5 years, Lan's family has been regularly supported with 200,000 VND/week so that each meal has rice and fish. Charitable gifts are also regularly and promptly brought by the teacher to Lan and her sisters. "Mr. Duc Anh is the support of my whole family," Lan confided.

Not only supporting Lan's family, Mr. Duc Anh's loving heart also warms many other difficult situations. Whenever he hears of someone in trouble, he goes there to find ways to support. In 10 years as the Team Leader at Huc Boarding Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, Mr. Anh cannot remember the number of times he has become a bridge connecting philanthropists with the people.
“This new school year, I will be working at Huong Tan Primary School. However, wherever I am or whatever I do, I will try to support the disadvantaged people in the place where I spent 10 years of my youth,” Mr. Duc Anh shared.
Unlike Mr. Duc Anh, Mr. Ngo Duy Hung, Vice Principal of A Ngo Primary and Secondary School, La Lay Commune, was not born and raised in the mountainous forest area of Western Quang Tri . However, after a few years of teaching, just by looking into the eyes of his students, he could see what difficulties they were facing. Unable to leave his students alone in the midst of hardship, his kind heart urged him to find ways to support them. Mr. Hung's bridge of compassion was built from here.
For over 20 years now, every time he travels nearly 100km to get to school, Mr. Hung's car is almost always loaded with affection from the lowlands. That affection is crystallized in new books, cakes, candies... from benefactors. Sometimes, it is a school bag, an old shirt... that the teacher and his wife have washed clean. Not only students, his car also brings joy to many poor lives. Mr. Hung is also the guide, bringing many volunteer groups to the village. "I have never felt tired of this journey," Mr. Hung affirmed.
Race with each school season
As a bridge between philanthropists and students in the highlands, teachers Duy Hung, Duc Anh and other teachers in the highlands always have to compete with unnamed tasks all year round. However, the beginning of school is always the busiest time for teachers. They know that for some students, each new school year is a season of worry. Living on the fields, not all parents have enough strength to help their children confidently enter the new school year. Therefore, children are easily unsteady and decide to drop out of school.
Understanding that, teachers in the highlands like Mr. Duy Hung and Mr. Duc Anh always want to help students more. In addition to visiting and encouraging, they also deduct their salary to support the students. Realizing that relying on their own strength is not enough, teachers continue to mobilize the attention and support of relatives, friends and charitable organizations and individuals. This is a job that not everyone is brave enough to do because it is committed to prestige, responsibility, time and effort.
“Accompanying students, more than anyone else, teachers in mountainous areas are the ones who share, understand, and know what difficulties students are facing and what support they need. Teachers' joint efforts to support students always stem from their love and sense of responsibility. The Department's leaders always appreciate and encourage teachers in general, and teachers in mountainous areas in particular, to contribute to helping students and people in difficult circumstances. The silent but extremely meaningful work of teachers has, is, and will not only help students reduce hardships and difficulties, but also make life better and better,” added Director of the Department of Education and Training Le Thi Huong.
Respectfully and affectionately mentioning teachers in mountainous areas, Ms. Le Thi Huong, Director of the Department of Education and Training, shared that although they are very quiet, their contributions are always known and remembered. The whole province currently has more than 31,000 teachers; many of whom are working in remote areas, areas with especially difficult socio -economic conditions.
Overcoming all challenges, teachers always uphold the spirit of "All for beloved students", responsibility, and dedication to the profession. Not only teaching students through words, many teachers are also a bridge of humanity, supporting and connecting poor students with charitable organizations and individuals. Although very quiet, the contributions of teachers are always known and remembered.
Up to now, some teachers in the highlands of Quang Tri have built and maintained a bridge between charitable organizations and individuals and highland students for decades. Not only do they support students, they also help the people where they work. Over time, this support has become more profound and has a greater impact through mobilizing philanthropists to support livelihoods, build roads, drill wells, etc. That is also the way teachers help parents and students reduce their worries and bring joy to each school year.
