Nguyen Tien sets record for painting using many types of materials

At the record-setting ceremony, Mr. Duong Duy Lam Vien - General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Record Holders Association, Director of the Vietnam Records Institute and Ms. Tran Thu Phuong - Deputy General Secretary of the Vietnam Records Organization (VietKings) - awarded the Vietnam record certificate to artist Nguyen Tien.

To set the record, about a month ago, the male artist performed many types of art such as: moving sand painting, glitter painting, water painting (pouring paint), fire painting, water paint painting, reverse watercolor painting, electric painting, spray paint painting, knife painting... to pass the test.

Sharing with Dan Tri reporter, the male artist said he was very happy and excited to have a worthy result after a long time of creativity and hard work.

Nguyen Tien was born in 1990 in Nam Dinh . He had a passion for painting from an early age. When he was young, he had no money to buy crayons or watercolors, so he often went to the beach to collect colored pebbles and grind them to make paint. Not only that, he also often drew on the sand at the beach to satisfy his passion.

When he grew up and became a student at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture, Nguyen Tien went to school and helped out at his family’s advertising painting shop. In addition, he invited his classmates to form a group to paint murals, spray paint, and paint on car bodies, helmets, laptops, etc. to earn extra income.

By 2010, the male artist began to find a strong passion for sand painting. Not only performing this art form at events as a job, the artist from Nam Dinh also explored using more materials and different painting methods to diversify his performances.

Throughout his career, he has created many unique works with 12 types and materials. The artist born in 1990 said: "A performance artist needs to have creative skills, always explore and experiment with new things, turn ideas into actions and create real products, and know how to perform to music to create an attractive performance."

Artist Nguyen Tien said that his artistic inspiration comes from everything in his daily life. Whenever he has free time, he often goes to volunteer painting at monasteries or kindergartens. According to him, everyone and everywhere needs beauty.

Nguyen Tien said that he is constantly developing his creativity in art in general and in painting in particular. He hopes that performance painting will be accepted by everyone and considered a simple, popular form of entertainment.

"I hope sand painting as well as performance painting will develop and bring cultural values, bringing the image of Vietnamese people and national identity to the world ," said Nguyen Tien.
