Accordingly, Ryan Luney, 28 years old, a daredevil who just achieved the Guinness World Record, was wearing protective gear and was completely burned by the fire while performing his acrobatics. The 28-year-old eventually completed seven somersaults, setting a record for the most somersaults (from a standing position) in 30 seconds while his entire body was on fire. With the assistance of a coordinator, Ryan Luney took up position, wearing a grey sweatshirt and pants, along with a fire-resistant helmet. Because he had to wear several layers of clothing inside that had been soaked in gel and left in the fridge for 24 hours to protect his body, this made Ryan Luney feel extremely cold. Ryan Luney started doing as many flips as he could, racing against time and battling the flames engulfing his body. The oxygen was burning up around me so if I didn’t keep moving I could have a hard time breathing and feel the heat,” Ryan Luney continued. Photo: @ Guinness World Records. At the end of the performance, lifeguards rushed to spray him with a fire extinguisher and used towels to put out the flames on his back. Ryan Luney said he was lucky to not suffer any serious injuries. Photo: @ Guinness World Records.
After taking on and completing the challenge, Ryan Luney said he felt like a whole new world of possibilities had opened up before his eyes. In fact, I really want someone to try, because it’s really a challenge for me. The purpose of setting the record is to prove that I am willing to push any possible limit,” Ryan Luney added.
