Song Hong Technical and Vocational College (Nong Trang ward, Viet Tri city, Phu Tho ) did not hold the opening ceremony.

According to many school officials and teachers, the reason for the above incident is that for many years now, the main campus of the school has had no students attending. This leads to a paradox: The school still exists in name, but the main campus has no regular teaching activities.

Speaking to reporters, Mr. Quan Trong Lan, Principal of Song Hong Technical and Vocational College, said that currently, recruiting students to study at the main campus is facing many difficulties. According to Mr. Lan, the school manages more than 100 students, equivalent to 4 linked classes, located at vocational education and continuing education centers in Phu Tho and Lao Cai provinces.

A school teacher said that this is not the first year, but the past 10 years, the school has not held an opening ceremony. "While schools across the country are bustling with opening ceremonies, students are excited to go to school, it is sad that the school does not have an opening ceremony," the school teacher shared.

According to the above teacher, the situation of "schools without students" not only raises questions about operational efficiency and training quality, but also relates to the use of facilities and educational resources.

According to the reporter's investigation, Song Hong Technical and Vocational College was previously under the management of the Ministry of Construction and by 2024, the People's Committee of Phu Tho province will take over the management of the school.

On the morning of September 5, speaking with reporters, a leader of the Department of Education and Training of Phu Tho province said that the unit officially received and managed the Song Hong Technical and Vocational College from March 2025. Currently, the school is still facing many difficulties, so it needs time to gradually resolve them.

According to the above leader, the lack of students attending the school is the responsibility of the school leaders. However, in reality, recruiting and training students is facing many difficulties due to market demand.
