After surpassing 1,700 points in the morning session, the VN-Index reversed and fell sharply in the afternoon session when selling pressure appeared widely. After 2:00 p.m., the index continuously widened its correction range.
At the end of the trading session, VN-Index decreased by 29.32 points (1.73%) to 1,666.97 points. This was the sharpest decrease in the past 10 days. On the entire HoSE floor, there were only 100 stocks increasing, 230 stocks decreasing and 45 stocks remaining unchanged.

In the VN30 group, there were 24 stocks that decreased, overwhelming the 3 stocks that increased and 3 stocks that remained unchanged. The VN30-Index decreased by 38.11 points (2.02%) to 1,845.48 points.
Red spread across the board, with the strongest being in the securities, steel and banking groups. Of which, the groups that had the most negative impact on the general index were VCB, VPB, BID, VHM and HPG.
In the securities group, AGR shares hit the floor, VND fell 6.7% and was close to the session's lowest level. Some bank codes fell sharply such asSHB , MBB, VPB, TPB or MSB, down from 3% to over 4%.
In the steel group, HSG and HPG decreased by 3.3 - 3.5%.
On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index fell 3.32 points (1.17%) to 280.67 points. The entire exchange had 72 stocks increasing, 95 stocks decreasing and 72 stocks remaining unchanged. The UpCom-Index fell 0.03 points to 111.82 points.
Liquidity increased sharply in the afternoon session when the index retreated. The total transaction value on the HoSE floor reached over VND49,000 billion, about VND9,200 billion higher than yesterday. The total value on all 3 floors reached over VND54,000 billion.
Foreign investors net sold about 1,300 billion VND, up 80% compared to the previous session. The stocks that were strongly net sold were VPB, VHM, MBB, HDB and TCB.
