On the morning of September 11, at Trung Phuc Cuong 2 Primary School (Thien Nhan Commune, Nghe An ), more than 140 students were still absent from class. This is the fourth consecutive day that many parents have kept their children home from school to protest the merger of Branch 2 into Branch 1 (main campus) of the school.

Branch 2 of Trung Phuc Cuong 2 Primary School (Thien Nhan Commune, Nghe An)
Previously, Trung Phuc Cuong 2 Primary School had two campuses, of which campus 1 was invested in modern facilities and fully equipped functional rooms. In August 2025, the Board of Directors submitted a proposal and received approval from the local authorities to transfer all students from campus 2 to the main campus. However, this decision met with strong reactions from many parents.
Mr. NCH (residing in Thien Nhan commune), whose two children are studying at the school, said that his family did not agree because they thought the old school was still spacious. In addition, having to pick up and drop off children further, especially through a national highway intersection with many trucks, poses a potential risk of traffic safety, making parents worried. "This is a black spot for accidents, we do not feel secure letting our children go to school through this road," Mr. H. said indignantly.
Another parent, Ms. PTQ (residing in Dong Xuan hamlet), shared: “After the opening ceremony, we let our child stay home from school because we disagreed with the merger. We wanted our child to study at a nearby school to ensure safety.”

The main campus of Trung Phuc Cuong 2 Primary School is fully equipped with modern facilities for teaching and learning.
According to Ms. Le Thi Lan - Principal of Trung Phuc Cuong 2 Primary School, in the 2025-2026 school year, the school has 19 classes with 670 students. On the opening ceremony of September 5, all students (including branch 2) attended the main location. However, from the following school days, hundreds of students were absent. As of September 11, 143 students were still absent. "The school has directly visited each household to persuade and persuade, but many parents still do not let their children go to school," said Ms. Lan.
Thien Nhan Commune authorities affirmed that the merger is aimed at improving the quality of teaching and learning, and taking advantage of modern facilities. To address concerns about traffic safety, the commune has arranged for functional forces to be on duty at intersections during rush hours, and has also proposed installing traffic lights and speed bumps to ensure the safety of students.
According to the commune leaders, at first only a few parents objected, but later due to some people's instigation, the number of parents not sending their children to school increased. The government and the school are continuing to campaign for parents to send their children back to school soon and stabilize their studies.
