Xiaomi has launched a new premium smart home appliance in China, the Mijia Smart Gas Water Heater Pro. Notably, the device also supports HyperOS, allowing for deep integration into Xiaomi’s smart home ecosystem, including app control and automation with other devices.
The machine has a capacity of 16 liters and is equipped with an advanced water softening system with two processing cores, using built-in ion exchange resins to remove calcium and magnesium ions in the water. The company said the device is capable of softening water, i.e. filtering 99% of calcium ions, reducing hardness from 450mg/L to just 20mg/L.
The treated water is friendlier to skin, hair and fabrics. Laboratory tests showed that after 28 days of use, skin moisture on the cheeks increased by 30.68%, oil on the scalp decreased by 33.6%, and on the forehead by 12.5%.
The water heater is equipped with a four-stage filtration system, magnetization, filter mesh, silver ion module and deoxidizing phosphate, removing impurities and bacteria. The copper tank is corrosion-resistant and has been certified by Mother and Baby Grade for the quality and safety of the water source.

In terms of performance, the machine can provide 16 liters of hot water per minute with a temperature increase of 25K, and a thermal power of 30 kW. The device uses a dual temperature control system (inside and outside) to maintain a stable water temperature throughout use. In addition, to significantly reduce operating noise, the manufacturer has used a CQC Level 1 noise-proof design including a closed combustion chamber, wide-blade fan, and multiple layers of sound insulation.
The product has an original price of 5,499 yuan (nearly 20 million VND). The promotional price on August 24 is 4,999 yuan. In related news, Xiaomi also launched a compact kettle and dryer.
With the Mijia ecosystem (China's domestic Mi Home), Xiaomi is increasingly expanding in the home appliance and electric vehicle segments. The HyperOS operating system has expanded to a wide range of devices, which is a great advantage to compete with traditional rivals. Xiaomi is gradually becoming a "thorn in the side" of Chinese home appliance manufacturers. Gree, Midea, Haier... have launched smart home products to compete.
