However, just 1 day later (today, August 12), fate brought these two players to face each other again in the quarterfinals. This promised fiery encounter will take place at 12:30 on August 12 (Vietnam time).

Jeremy Bury (44 years old) is one of the most experienced players in the European 3-cushion carom billiards community. The French player and Tran Quyet Chien have met many times in tournaments under the World Carom Billiards Federation (UMB). In 2016, Bury defeated Quyet Chien in the final of the Guri World Cup (Korea). Bury is known as the "time king", because he has a habit of letting the countdown clock near 0 before making a shot. This playing style has made top players struggle many times, and will certainly be a big challenge for Quyet Chien in the quarterfinals.

The form of both teams before this match shows that this is an unpredictable match. In the group stage, Bury beat Luiz Martinez and then drew with Quyet Chien to quickly secure a ticket to the quarter-finals. Quyet Chien started slowly when facing Bury and continued to win a thrilling victory against Martinez, but still entered the quarter-finals as the top team in Group C thanks to a better goal difference.
