Lai Chau Martyrs Cemetery has more than 600 graves of heroic martyrs, who are the outstanding sons of Lai Chau and other localities in the country. In the sacred moment, the delegates offered wreaths, lit incense sticks and candles to express their respect and deep gratitude to the heroic martyrs.
Comrade Giang Pao My - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation offered incense at the martyrs' graves.
Comrade Vu Manh Ha - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee offered incense at the Provincial Martyrs' Cemetery.
After the candle lighting ceremony, there was a cultural program to celebrate the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day with special singing, dancing and music performances praising the Party, Uncle Ho and the great sacrifices of the heroic martyrs.
On this occasion, the Government Youth Union donated funds for social security activities in Lai Chau province with a total value of 1 billion 340 million VND; gave 20 gifts to policy families, former youth volunteers, and people with revolutionary contributions; and presented 10 bicycles to 10 children in difficult circumstances.

Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Lai Xuan Lam - Deputy Secretary of the Government Party Committee highly appreciated the sense of responsibility of the Government Youth Union and Lai Chau Provincial Youth Union in organizing the activities of "Repaying gratitude" and "Drinking water, remembering its source". This activity is a journey of gratitude, a sacred connection between today's generation and the generations of fathers and brothers who heroically sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the nation, for the happiness of the people. The presence of outstanding members of the two units at the ceremony is a vivid proof of the tradition of patriotism and gratitude of our nation that is being inherited and promoted by the young generation.
