Lam Dong has been implementing many solutions to diversify types and improve the quality of operations of cooperatives in the area. Of which, agricultural cooperatives still account for the largest proportion with 956 cooperatives, playing a key role in rural development and restructuring the agricultural sector. Many cooperatives have gradually built value chains, applied science and technology, produced according to VietGAP, GlobalGAP, and organic agriculture standards, thereby improving productivity, product quality and income for members and farmers.

Many cooperatives in Lam Dong are proactively transforming themselves from the old production model to a new cooperative model associated with the value chain. Mr. Vo Dinh Danh - Director of Dak Mil Agricultural and Forestry Cooperative, Duc Lap Commune shared: "Our cooperative guides members to grow high-quality coffee according to the value chain. Thanks to the support of the government and the Cooperative Union, the cooperative has gradually developed stable production and business."

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Sen - Director of the Agricultural Production and Purchasing Cooperative in Bac Gia Nghia Ward said that the unit has boldly invested in greenhouses, applied technology to grow melons and tomatoes, helping to increase productivity and reduce labor costs.

In addition, 70 transport cooperatives are taking on the role of transporting goods and passengers between provinces and within provinces. Trade - service, industry - handicraft, tourism and environmental sanitation cooperatives are also gradually asserting their position by expanding their business lines, applying new technologies and gradually forming production - consumption chains.

Strive to have 43% of cooperatives operating well and fairly.

In the context of deep international integration, Lam Dong Cooperatives are facing many opportunities and challenges. Fierce competition in domestic and foreign markets requires cooperatives to constantly innovate organizational methods, improve management capacity, apply technology, expand consumption markets and strengthen production linkages.

Mr. Bui Hoa Tham - Vice President of Lam Dong Cooperative Alliance commented: "Industrial Revolution 4.0 is creating a major turning point in production and consumption. Therefore, we encourage cooperatives to promote digital transformation and apply technology".

In the coming time, Lam Dong province aims to develop cooperatives according to modern models, focusing on the quality of operations, replicating new cooperative models, and strengthening value chain linkages between cooperatives and enterprises. The province will also prioritize policies for agricultural cooperatives applying high technology, encouraging investment in potential areas such as: processing industry, logistics services, agricultural tourism, etc.

Lam Dong aims to have 43% of cooperatives operating fairly well by 2026; 40% operating averagely, reducing the rate of weak and poor operations to 17%.

The province aims for 45% of cooperatives to link with businesses in the value chain by 2026. The province will continue to improve support policies and expand access to resources for cooperatives, especially in the agricultural, rural and marine economic sectors.

Mr. Bui Hoa Tham shared that the development of cooperatives in Lam Dong not only aims at economic goals but also towards humanistic values, contributing to building a close-knit community, political stability, ensuring national defense and security and moving towards a strong collective economy, flexibly adapting to the trends of the times.
