Identifying the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style as a key political task, associated with Party building and socio-economic development, in recent years, Tam Duong has focused on discovering, nurturing and spreading advanced models - considering this a key solution to make learning from Uncle Ho practical and transform into concrete actions among cadres, party members and people.
As the northeastern gateway district of Lai Chau province, Tam Duong has 13 communes and towns, with nearly 60,000 people from 12 ethnic groups living together. Tam Duong has more than 2,800 party members operating in 48 grassroots party organizations.
Faced with the requirement to reorganize district-level administrative units, localities determined to maintain political stability, promote the strength of great solidarity and mobilize the internal strength of the people. Therefore, spreading the spirit of learning from Uncle Ho through typical models and examples has special significance, contributing to creating consensus and trust in society.
Determining the above spirit, the Standing Committee of Tam Duong District Party Committee has thoroughly grasped the viewpoint: "Using typical examples to promote the movement, using the movement to create typical examples". The district issued guidelines and plans, clearly defining criteria for discovering and commending typical examples in accordance with the characteristics of each agency and unit. The responsibility for discovering good examples is specifically assigned to each grassroots party organization, emphasizing the exemplary role of the leader. At the same time, the district established an effective coordination mechanism between mass propaganda agencies, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations in propagating and encouraging good people and good deeds.

Standing Deputy Secretary of Tam Duong District Party Committee, Comrade Cao Trang Trong affirmed: “Discovering, nurturing and replicating advanced models is the key solution to spread Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and style into social life. The district always associates the content of learning from Uncle Ho with the implementation of political tasks and Party building work, taking results as a measure to evaluate cadres and organizations”.
Over the past 10 years, Tam Duong has recognized 1,385 outstanding collectives, individuals, households and 316 typical models, many of which have been commended by the Prime Minister and the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
Some typical models such as community tourism in Lao Chai 1 village, Khun Ha commune, bring in an income of 100-150 million VND/household/year, welcoming more than 20,000 visitors; the organic cassava growing model in Ban Bo commune achieves an income of more than 200 million VND/ha/year. Individuals such as Mr. Ma A Phu, Vang Van Ngoc, Ly Van Lun have also become bright spots in labor, production, education and health.
According to Comrade Tong Van Duc, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Khun Ha Commune Party Committee, “Learning from Uncle Ho starts with concrete actions in people's lives. Our Lao Chai village community tourism model not only increases income but also vividly demonstrates Uncle Ho's teachings on promoting the role of people as masters. Preserving cultural identity and protecting the environment of the villagers has become a daily action, contributing to spreading a civilized and responsible lifestyle in the community. We are striving to replicate the good, the beautiful, and the benefits of the above model to all villages in the commune.”
Faced with new development requirements, Tam Duong determined to continue raising awareness and responsibility at all levels in discovering, nurturing and replicating typical examples; strengthening close contact with the grassroots, promptly discovering good models and effective methods associated with political tasks and emulation movements. The district focuses on applying information technology in communication and evaluating the effectiveness of models, promoting the exemplary role of leaders, creating a spreading force from the Party to society, from top to bottom.
Creative and practical ways of studying and following Uncle Ho are contributing to building a clean and strong Tam Duong Party Committee, improving management effectiveness, developing the economy and society quickly and sustainably, towards the goal of building a prosperous and happy life for the people of all ethnic groups in the area.
