New expectations from the special opening ceremony

After the brief and solemn opening ceremony of the new school year at educational institutions, teachers, students, and pupils across the province watched the ceremony celebrating the 80th anniversary of the education sector's tradition combined with the opening of the new school year 2025-2026, organized by the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) and broadcast live on national television from the My Dinh National Convention Center (Hanoi).

Unlike the opening ceremonies in previous years, this year's opening ceremony has two parts, which are the short festival organized by the schools, lasting 60 minutes, from 7-8am. At exactly 8am, the schools will watch the ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the education sector's tradition combined with the opening of the new school year 2025-2026, organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, broadcast on national television.

Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Dong Nai province, Do Dang Bao Linh, shared: This year's opening ceremony is very special for Dong Nai students, not only because it is the first school year of the province's merger and the implementation of the 2-level local government model, but also because of the positive signals from the Party and State's special attention policies to education, teachers and students. Specifically, on August 22, 2025, General Secretary To Lam signed and issued Resolution 71-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in education and training development. Previously, on July 18, the Politburo issued Notice No. 81-TB/TW on the policy of investing in building schools for border communes.

In particular, from the 2025-2026 school year, public preschool and primary school students nationwide will be exempted from tuition fees, while private and non-public school students will also be considered for tuition support. Not stopping there, the salaries and incomes of the teaching staff have also been significantly improved and will continue to improve even more in the future. These are very important motivations to improve the quality of teaching and learning comprehensively, not only for the 2025-2026 school year, but also create momentum for breakthroughs in the following school years.

Ms. Pham Thi Tram, Principal of Loc Tan Secondary School (Loc Tan Commune), a border commune of Dong Nai Province, shared: The opening ceremony of the new school year 2025-2026 with the Board of Directors, teachers and over 700 students of the school was much more joyful than previous opening ceremonies. We are happy that the Party and the State have more and more policies paying special attention to the education sector, to the teachers and students, especially in remote communes, ethnic minority areas and border areas. The school hopes that the project of the Provincial People's Committee on investing in schools for border communes, including Loc Tan Secondary School, will soon be approved and quickly implemented this school year.

Fueling Education

Expectations for comprehensive innovation in teaching and learning methods, Party Secretary and Chairman of the People's Council of Phuoc An Commune, Do Huy Khanh, said: The commune has many large industrial parks, near Long Thanh airport and Ho Chi Minh City, especially Phuoc An deep-water seaport has started operating. That is a breakthrough development opportunity for Phuoc An, but the opportunity will only truly come true when the people of the commune have high professional skills, and professional skills always start from a solid foundation of general education.

Mr. Do Huy Khanh added: "The Party Committee of Phuoc An commune will continue to closely follow the directives, resolutions and conclusions of the Central Government and Dong Nai province to develop education, especially seriously implementing the direction of General Secretary To Lam at the opening ceremony of the 2025-2026 school year, taking place on the morning of September 5, to take more drastic actions, considering education as a sustainable and breakthrough direction for Phuoc An commune in the new period".

Dr. Lam Thanh Hien, Principal of Lac Hong University (Tran Bien Ward) was pleased with the way the new school year 2025-2026 was organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, especially the content of the speech by General Secretary To Lam at the ceremony. The General Secretary's guiding viewpoints stated in his speech have a long-term vision, comprehensive innovation, depth and practicality. It can be considered the first valuable lesson of the new school year for the teaching staff nationwide, and at the same time, very valuable advice for today's young generation.

Dr. Lam Thanh Hien expressed: General Secretary To Lam has pointed out very correct directions for educational innovation in the new period, that is, education needs to strongly innovate thinking and action, shifting from "corrective" reform to creative thinking - leading national development.
